[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-07-02 AT 06:18 AM (GMT)]Tragic news,my thoughts go out to the families of those who have died.
The airlines involved were a DHL 757 enroute from Bahrain to Brussels,it had a British pilot onboard. The other a Bishke.. Airlines TU-154 enroute from Moscow to Barcelona.
Very lucky that any wreckage did not hit the surrounding towns.

    RE: Are You Orange

I think the question is that can the smaller low cost carriers compete with EasyJet rather than Ryanair.Buzz for example is a very small airline compared to the big low cost carriers.Their network is very small with only destinations really in France,Germany and Northern Spain unlike EasyJet an Ryanair who fly all over Europe. Also the aircraft Buzz use is not doing them much good. The BAe146 is hard to operate profitable as low cost Aircraft and also operations with two manifactures (737-300) can not be that cheap either.
One good thing is the fact that Buzz operates to the primary airports rather than secondary such as CDG,unlike Ryanair who fly to Beauvais. With this you are closer to your destination and have better transportation links to the main cities so its a lot faster and more appealing to a passenger. However,Easyjet seem to be doing this now and so in my opinion its going to be harder for the likes of Buzz to compete in the low cost market when their ‘big brothers’ are getting larger all the time.

    Carcassonne,Cardiff,City of Derry,Cork
    Dinard,Dublin

    Frankfurt,Friedrichshafen
    Genoa,Glasgow,Gothenburg,Graz
    Hamburg

I’m sure Ryanair can compete as long as they keep their amount of destinations up and their prices down which i’m am sure Michael O’Leary will do then I see no problem.

RE: Aeroflot says no to western aircrafts!

The Americans and Europeans seem to buy mainly aircraft from their own aviation manufactures (with a few exceptions)so why shouldn’t the Russians do it?Good on them I say,the TU-214 is a beautiful aircraft!
