Very nice Andrew, my latest two are as follows, Air India 744, (VT-ESO) nice details as you can see, “Your Palace in the Sky”. I often think Hooters Air planes should have “Your Palace or Mine?” written on them (lol) 😀

    Both by Gemini Jets

Looks likely that CO are interested. They had a party visit BFS last week to suss the place out before committing to anything. A 757 service would on paper appear to be the most likely starter.

    Sounds likely ?

I remember first clapping eyes on a 330 when about 11 years old and wondering if it was a flying boat, due to it’s odd square shaped construction and wierd tail configuration. A few years later when the 360 replaced it, I remember being glad that they’d finally made the 330 look like a  proper plane. (lol).

I can find no trace of it on A.net

Possibly been deleted, it was there when I checked.

Might I make a suggestion ? Let’s take a leaf from the aviation magazines, and in particluar the one that inspired this forum. You’ll find pilot input, flight reviews, airline reviews, news tit-bits, flight sim stuff, model stuff and a wee dose of commercial aviation humour.

As far as I’m concerned, I’d like to see all of those tastes covered in the online version of the magazine. Let’s enjoy and tolerate the vagaries of our individual commercial aviation fancies, and continue to make this a fantastic forum.

Whingeing does no good. You’re only as good as your own input. Now c’mon fellows, let’s see what you’re made of ?

I wouldn’t say their are many US carriers currently in any kind of financial state to order the A380 if they are realistically looking at it.
If FedEx have ordered then could it be UPS?

Good point, there is after all a cargo variant in the pipeline as well, that kind of mega freight capacity could be just what many of the US freight lines are looking for?

What US carrier would have an interest in the A380 let alone be in a position to order such an aircraft?

Can’t help thinking it may be Northwest given their vast Pacific/Asia networks? Just my speculation though and they are an Airbus operator.

One thing I noticed, which I had not seen before with BA on short haul, was that they showed the flight on a map on the screens, with the usual speed/altitude/E.T.A. information you see on long haul fights.

Yeah I flew a BA A319 when they did the GLA-BHX route a few years ago and was surprised by this useful and pleasant feature of my seatback.

If it’s not on any news sites in the next half hour we can assume nothing happened at all.

Perhaps we need an ‘aviation hobby’ sub forum to discuss things like flight simming, model collecting, trading in flight safety cards and assorted nick nacks etc etc ?
