Good stuff fella, I envy you for having flown the Tristar. 😀
That is a lovely photo of the 753 by Fred Seggie. He is one great photographer.
Great photographer, nice guy and all round Fred Astaire lookalikey ! 😀
Congrats and keep posting, when you say these are some of your favourite planes to fly on over the years, do you mean you’ve been on those actual planes pictured or just those types ?
Continental seems to be doing quite nicely doing just that! Continental has used the 757 in the past to many European destinations and from what I have heard intend to open up new European destinations with the 757.
Next to CO there are/where also other airlines. Think for instance Icelandair and Air Transat.
Continental will operate 752’s on the EDI-EWR service, they used to operate on the GLA-EWR service but this is now 764’s and 762’s in the winter. The GLA service is marketed as GLA-LAX, but this includes a plane change at EWR.
I’m not sure if a 752, loaded lightly could do LHR-LAX non stop ? anyone know ?
I must admit to being constantly surprised by the ranges of modern airliners though, I was amazed to make DUB-LAX non stop in an A330. 😀
theres hope for me yet, I’m flying with TCX GLA-Zakinthos in September. Albeit a miniscule shred of hope.
There was a TCX one in at GLA last week Sandy , but they are extremely rare here.
As ever Fred Seggie was there to snap it
. I didn’t realise it was a 753 until I saw a plaque type thing by the galley I think, that indicated it was. 🙂
Other clues are the bend in the fuselage on take off, the provision of binoculars to those at the back to see the inflight safety demo and the cabin crew changing shift’s half way down the aisle. 😀
Are they actually still in a fight? That was the reason I thought they broke up. Black said 3 years ago he was only thinking about a reunion when he needed money quick or when a family-member needs a new kidney. 😀
I don’t think so ? Water under the bridge now apparently.
I can recommend this book/magazine that I bought in WH Smith at the weekend for £15. It has two cd-rom’s with tutorials and loads of easy to follow lessons and advice from Photoshop users.
I too am fairly useless at Photoshop, you could try and look for an evening class at your local FE college, lot’s of them do courses.
I love the bit in the DVD where he’s swinging his guitar round and the strap comes off… Kim just about p*sses herself with laughter.
You can see plenty of the TU-154 in this rarther attractive DVD… 🙂
Yes they’re still using Tu154’s into Glasgow.
Norman Tebbit’s supposed to be behind a similar UK operation called Blue Fox, offering a premium transatlantic service to presumably those that Concorde left behind ?
Well I’ll be digging out my Planet Of Sound t-shirt for the T in the Park festival in Scotland in July. The only worry is that I’ll be working on stage two and the Pixies will be playing stage one !
Rumour has it though that they might be switching to stage two, to headline one of the nights instead of being way down the running order on stage one.
It’s been almost thirteen years since I last saw them live and boy does that make me feel old, although I think I’ve perhaps aged a little better than Mr Black and his cohorts 😀
I can’t remember if Charles said much to the crowd the couple of times I saw them ? I know Kim was more chatty, even Joey Santiago muttered a few things to us. Favourite record…? still Doolittle, but they’re all great in there own ways.
If anyone wants a Pixies t-shirt by the way, they can be found at this website under music shirts http://www.shocktees.com
I know some people at EIN…. Ill speak to you on messenger!
Not the chairman hopefully ? 😮
That’s a pretty big difference! Interesting how you can do comparisons with models.
Yip, and to think people dismiss them as mere toys ! 😀
