I just did a search for random days in July/August and it came out to a little over 300 Euro round-trip. That’s a little expensive for just airfare on a charter airline, isn’t it?
I’d blame it on the Olympics personally.
I’ve just looked on aena to try and find my nanna and granda’s flight to Lanzarote, when I noticed two FCA flights as Stratford Airways? I’m baffled, are you??
I wonder if their aircraft will use Rolls Royce Avons ?
It’ll just be especially for the Olympics, if they go ahead. Anyone seen the state of the main venue recently!!
S’not you know. 🙂
Interesting angle there of that 747.
As is the angle of the runway (lol). A great shot though and it takes me back to busier times at PIK.
i only joined 3 weeks ago so i dont no if we had a thread like this before 😮
It’s fair say we’ve been inundated with threads like these of late and we’re trying to promote a more rounded type of thread/.debate just now. 😀
Too many valuable contributors were leaving because of the proliferation of “what’s your favourite sick bag ?” style threads.
Now… does that count as a subtle act of moderation ?
I’m going to be in Greece this summer for a month, and if I can hop on one of these flights for cheap, I’ll go to Glasgow for a few days.
I’m stocking up on the malts already ! 😀
With a huge tripod……………
If you work on golf OB’s you can get a 200ft tripod in the form of a huge crane. Not for the faint hearted or incontinent I might add. 😀
Golden Showers at St Andrews is not an uncommon occurence. 😮
Looking forward to seeing her in one piece, that goes for BOAA too mind you !
Great to see the Connie and get on board, hopefully it won’t be the last time… ?
She left an overcast Prestwick today at 9.50am BST, disappointing many who turned up for the planned 11am slot. Fortunately I was there at 9am and caught some shots of the take off which can be seen on the Commercial Forum… 😉
Cheers folks,
As ever there wasn’t much else to see at PIK today, although I’ve missed half of the RAF these past few days apparently, including a VC-10 and four Jaguars. Jack Nicholson flew in on his private Gulfstream but I didn’t get a shot.
Here’s what else happened today…. 🙂
She turned south then west, prompting hopes that the fly past was still on, they even held up a Ryanair 738 waiting to leave for it. We knew it was cancelled when we saw her turn south again heading for a little patch of clear blue and the Ryanair throttled up and left.
The weather was grey and dull with low cloud, this meant the promised flypast was also cancelled. Shortly after she disappeared south many enthusiasts turned up thinking they were early for the take off… 🙁
They have ‘snappy’ slogans on them up here, one I saw said something like:
“From The Firth of Forth to Fifth Avenue”
GLA should get some too… “From deep fried Mars to Broadway bars” ! 🙂
May Day, Allan.
I thought yesterday was Star Wars day…? “May the 4th be with you” 😀
