It is indeed the APU Inlet Door 🙂
I’ve noticed that before and often wondered what the hell it was ? Thanks for the info.
This thread is brilliant. Especially like Dans Sharm El Sheikh AEU 737 and the one just after take off from GLA where you can see G-RJGR 🙂
G-RJGR about to leave GLA…
New auto pilot installation suffers some teething trouble.
“So that’s why that big red button said DO NOT PRESS !”
.Oh, I forgot, to be an airline MD requires one to have 50% stupidity and 50% blind luck
And aspirations to become a grand master as well no doubt ?
I think most of use were under the same impression – so it was a bit of a downer to find they only have 1 engine for her , also no carpets , no seats ……………… 🙁
Presumably the seats went on e-bay months ago ? Didn’t G-BOAB the one bound for Heathrow’s new T5 just donate it’s seats to the Brooklands Concorde ?
If you need to raise a few quid to reach that “beyond” status webbie, then I’ll happily oblige. 🙂
A LHR meet would be great.Im planning a trip to London in the summer not sure when though.Im meeting up hopfully with antother member here in Dublin during the last week of june if anybody is interested.
A330 Crazy, T5 and myself did DUB in February. I’d like to go back but not until I’ve been to a few other places first.
From LBA there is a direct train sprinter service to Glasgow Central in the summer period only, at least there has been for the past few years? It takes around 4 hours I gather from my Glasgow based, Leeds colleague.
Other than that you can catch a GNER service via Edinburgh or hop across to Preston or Wigan and catch a Virgin west coast service also to Glasgow Central. From Glasgow Central you’d change to a Paisley Gilmour Street local service (10 mins ) and catch the airport bus outside which will take you to GLA in 5 mins.
Ren , what you mean is ” are they going to leave out the only Olympus engine which came with the big jigsaw kit ”
I have my answer, thanks Al. To be honest I only asked as I was under the impression BA were keeping all the engines safely stowed away at LHR.
My reply to this topic posted about 20 mins ago has vanished ?
august 10th glasgow me most likley allen (renfrew) and sandy (bmused55)
June 3rd at GLA is on the cards at the moment, so far attending will be A330 Crazy, T5, Bmused55 and myself.
Anyone else who wishes to attend is welcome, it’s a Thursday by the way for cheaper flight deals. Not that I’ll need one mind you !
Does nobody make models these days (i.e airfix and so on..)
I gave that up years ago, too lazy now. 😮 In my day though I used to build at least one Airfix or suchlike kit per week. The only assembled kits I have now are a 1:48th scale DC-3 in Lufthansa colours and a badly done 1:144 scale BAC-1-11 in Aer Lingus 1960’s livery.
They’ve just pulled the GLA-EMA route despite saying they wouldn’t let Easyjet rule the roost at GLA. Also now operating their Prestwick Cardiff service through Air Wales and their ATR’s.
Fantastic models Allen! Did you go to GLA and get any pictures?
Nope couldn’t be bothered in the end, had a day off in the back garden with the cats and some cold tinnies.
