I’ d prefer the kudos of the Jumbo, but the Airbus business plan seems more attractive right now. Incidentally I prefer Canon lenses but the BBC makes me use Fujinon. At the end of the day my preferences are of little interest to my employer’s accountants.:D

The engineers have traced the fault to the air-con unit.

I was 6 when the Tenerife accident occurred, although I recall being 6 and was in primary 2 at school, I have absolutely no recollection of the accident at all ?

When Lockerbie happened I was 17 and working in a shop the moment the news broke. I suppose certain disasters have more emotional pertinence for each individual depending on your age and how ‘close to home’ they may or may not be.

In terms of loss of life aboard aircraft then Tenerife is the worst, the collective loss of life through 9/11 was appauling but not the most significant disaster as per life lost onboard goes.

Any aviation disaster is a tragedy but they often provide lessons that can help to save other lives later on, be it two 747’s colliding or a Cessna making a crash landing.

The Pan Am was a 741 Steve.

I have to say that the differences in the “aesthetic qualities” of the girls working Aer Lingus long haul and those working short haul were worth remarking upon. 😉 😀
