How about http://www.realplayer.com ?
Is that real pilot training or just someone having a go ?
There was actually some talk in the papers recently about the police wishing to encourage and in some kind of way regulate spotters and photographers etc, at Glasgow Airport.
The theory being that as most spotters know each other they would actually be of benefit to the security of the airport, as any so called terrorists hanging about in or around the airport would stick out like a sore thumb to the seasoned enthusiast.
I felt that this was a good idea, I don’t know how advanced the plans have become though ?
Although I’ve never been a particular fan of Soviet era airliners, I have to admire your passion and enthusiasm for them. You’ve summed the IL62 up nicely there. 😀

Of course the Scots are strange, they invented a multi barrelled machine gun with a built in war cry and called it a musical instrument
Ah yes…. the old ones are indeed the best ones, although it’s widely believed to be the case that the “multi barrelled machine gun” you refer to was invented elsewhere. 😀

Well seeing as you mentioned it… 😀
I bunked off school to see 3 Concordes at Glasgow Airport in the 1980’s.
Not that I’m suggesting you do the same mind ya ! 😉
It does look like a 767 of sorts, Britannia introduced the 767’s in the livery below though.
I remember looking at an in-flight magazine in 1981 which showed the “futuristic” 767 as an artist’s impression in those 70’s colours. I think it was early 1984 when they finally got them in service and defo not in that livery.
Wahey, top sunset there Kevin. It looks like Mars is getting a bit too close to BHX ! 🙂
Andrew’s gonna meet me at T1 when I get off the plane as he knows his way about and I don’t, so we’ll liase about meeting you Kev and the others before the day comes. 😀
Looking forward to taking some great photos hopefully ! 🙂

Ren,
The Aer Lingus aircraft isn’t on a stand it’s actually being pushed back. You can see the tug. As for the airbrakes perhaps it’s part of the final checks. Wys might know.

Ah yes, so it is. Probably a momentary check captured by the camera ?
Great review there. The only thing I didn’t enjoy hearing was the “middle of the night” aspect of your time at MAN. I hate being in airports in the wee small hours. 😀
Nice pics, I like the first Aer Lingus shot. Is it normal to sit on the stand with the airbrakes open like that ?
Got mine today and Aircraft Illustrated too. Great supplement and I might buy the book too.
In AI there’s a good 757 feature including a centre page cutaway of the 757-200.
