I intend to go to Edinburgh for some photos, hopefully there will be a flypast over Glasgow city as there was when the Scottish Parliament opened.
And the last of the day’s Transatlantic arrivals… I might take a run to Prestwick tomorrow ?
I think I’m going to visit this rubble mound more often, it even had a plastic seat and an empty beer crate on it for my comfort ! 😀
Another view of the Islander, my fave little plane…
An unusual visitor, maybe the Faroe Islands football team decided to make a weekend of it ?
One of the last BA Landor painted planes…
Nice ATP close up, it was soon towed to the main BA maintenance hangar at the East apron.
Taken around the Loganair hangar…

Hi,Why was that Ren Frew?
Thanks
Nationwide Air
Packed with screaming children, broken air con, hot as a hot thing, shabby interiors, kept getting my elbow and knee bashed by the catering trolley, cabin crew a bit p*ssed off and grumpy. Every child on board formed a four hour queue for the toliet.
Other than these things it was fine. 😀

Funny how you never see the headline in the paper saying ‘shock horror, number 73 bus returns to depot with rattling exhaust!!!’
You do in The Greenock Telegraph, in fact once they had a front page story about a lamp-post that stayed on for 3 weeks and upset a woman who’s flat it was outside. The best thing about that headline was the attached text saying “see photo, page 7”
I kid ye not ! 😎
Of course you get a better class of “diddy” story in the Paisley Daily Express, which once reported on a man who’d been fined for creosoting his fence without the appropriate permission !
Yes I flew on a 10-10 in January 2002 from Gran Canaria to Manchester. Not the dream DC-10 trip I was looking forward to unfortunately. 🙁

So it was BA that dropped the Loganair Islander routes and not Loganairs decision? If so then why didn’t they do the same with the Twotter, or is the fact that the plane lands on a beach slightly more socially acceptable? Dear oh dear…
Yip, that’s more or less what the pilot said, BA didn’t like the Islander bearing their name as it’s role as an air abulance doesn’t quite fit in with their corporate remit. He also said most of the air ambulance work done is of the “non urgent patient transport” type and that the Scottish Ambulance Association that pay for the service were pressing them to operate a faster and more comfortable type for patient’s benefit.
He didn’t think Loganair would go for this as it would mean higher engineering costs, bringing another type into the fleet. A very nice chap, been flying with Loganair since the 80’s. I must send him an Islander print.
Oh yes…. another nugget of info he passed on was that the old GLA Loganair hangar which passed onto BRA and then BA Regional; has been closed and is lying empty, possibly for demolition he reckoned.
