Here’s the new FlyGlobeSpan plane at GLA recently as well

Yeah but it’s not just about beaming pictures to the plane, it’s also about beaming microwave signals to each of the cameras in both directions, talk back and cueing signals, time base, synchronisation, real time compression etc etc. If they did do it live, fair play to them but ask yourself how often you’ve ever seen anything else coming live from a plane in flight.

Air Force one can do it, but then even that would be a one way unilateral broadcast.

I still say it was mostly an edit job, I’d like to see it again and could probably prove it mind you. Of course who’s to say the plane was ever actually in the air at all.. ? har har I love a good conspiracy theory.

I haven’t seen them at GLA since the early 80’s. Mainly a summer service as I recall.

TAP to make a profit ? Don’t tell me they’ve reissued “Smell The Glove” ? (lol, sorry couldn’t resist)

Seriously though, thanks for the info I used to enjoy seeing them at GLA in the summer months a while back.

Why are safety cards waterproof?

I’d imagine it’s more to do with keeping them clean and reusable than fishing them out of the sea after a ditching (lol)

One other question… They always say ” In the unlikely event of landing on water…” What did they say in the days of Sunderland/Empire flying boats during the safety briefing ???

So how exactly do you get to travel in the jump seat then without being a member of staff.
