RE: sunrise over atlantic
Thanks Kabir, for posting my pic. Apologies to all for the lo-res scan, my scanner is b*ll*cks!!!
The pic was taken cruising over the Atlantic, almost approaching Canada en route to LAX from DUB last June.
I didn’t use flash, just poked the lens through the window at 28mm and snapped, I may have had the polarizer on, can’t remember, much red wine had been enjoyed by that stage. I also took a close up of the winglet at 200mm which looks good and shows a cluster of antennae on the winglet and wing. Anyone know what these might be ?
RE: Wearing a wire
I noticed on an A330 winglet, a cluster of small antennae. Would these provide a similar role to that of the old fangled washing line type ?
RE: sunrise over atlantic
Thanks Kabir, I’ll do it tomorrow hopefully ? Another 12 hour shift beckons.
RE: sunrise over atlantic
Anyone who can post them on this thread, willing to look at a couple of my pics if I e-mail them personally.
Try, try ,try as I might I can’t get the filesize down to an acceptable level with my rudimentary software. I’ve got two that would go nicely with the 747 pic at the top of the thread ?
RE: FAO Renfrew
Consider it done Kev.
RE: That ain’t no way to treat a Lady
So it’s not just model planes that need a fisherman’s weight glued in to the fuselage at the cockpit end ?
It’s just the sort of thing that crossed my mind when the new Airbus A340 was rolled out at Farnbourough in the summer. Just like the 757-300 as Wys says.
RE: sunrise over atlantic
Mibbe it’s a 340 ?

RE: sunrise over atlantic
I took one like that on my SLR over the Atlantic looking straight along the massive wing of an A330. If I ever figure out this scanning/posting malarkey I’ll let you see it.

RE: Pic selection
Nice one of the Tristar at GLA on a rare sunny day. My old band mate Davie used to live in the block of flats partially obscured by the tail fin.
RE: Ryanair Places Major Boeing Order
Would it be against the rules for Boeing to invest in an airline such as Ryanair ? I wouldn’t be surprised if they have already.
RE: Space Shuttle Columbia: Missing
I’ve got vivid boyhood memories of the first Space Shuttle Columbia mission in 1981 aged 10, also the Challenger explosion aged 15, This one seems worse for some reason, probably because they should have been home and dry when it happened.
If nothing else, it certainly shows the dangers of space travel and the power of the earth’s atmosphere. It’s a real shame for all those close to the astronauts as they most probably witnessed the whole thing live on TV.
