    RE: Space Shuttle Columbia: Missing

I note from the news that some debris is being found in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Does anyone know how far exactly this stuff could travel ?

It would seem to have disentegrated at around 200,000 ft approx and doing around 14,000 mph heading east over Texas. Could it get as far as the Atlantic Ocean and could debris even be washed up on European shores after a while ?

RE: NASA Loses Touch With Shuttle Columbia

Very sad news, I remember watching the first ever shuttle launch in the 80’s live on tv, also Columbia.

Looking at the TV footage of the breakup and listening to the reports of possible damage to the heat retardant tiles on a wing during take off, I wonder if the orbiter has suffered a serious burn up upon re-entry causing a catastrophic failure of the structure as it flew over earth ? It certainly seems to look that way.

    Another sad day for flight.

Weren’t Boeing or Nasa using one recently for exploratory work ? What became of those tests, did they prove useful for future SST types ?

Needless to say I’d still enjoy the view, thinking of moving to a nice new development at Inchinnan, complementary views of the Campsies and GLA a mere bonus of course !

It must either be a fake reflection or a fake jumbo, the horizontals don’t match up between the two.

Could the reflection in the puddle be the work of Mr Photoshop I wonder ? It looks completely unnatural to me.

And a Scot Airways Dornier was forced to circle Edinburgh for two hours last night en route to Dundee whilst visual checks were made as to whether or not the landing gear had deployed following doubts from the flight deck instrumentation.

How long til we see “EasyRyan” or “RyanJet” planes take to the skies ?

Actually wouldn’t it be great if Easy Jet bought Flying Tigers and rebranded as Easy Tiger?, A corporate jet, off shoot of Ryan Air.. Private Ryan ? you can tell what the financial headline would be if they got into difficulty.

Presumably Lazurus is the same eejit that started the ‘BA 777 gone missing’ rumour last year ? You certainly fit the category of web forum b*llshitter. There’s at least one on every forum.

Good info Wysiwyg, I passed on the info you posted about the JMC cadetship to a production planning dept at the BBC with a view to them doing a docu series on the New Zealand/UK training. They think it’s a good ideaa, but typically by the time it’s approved it will be too late to do the project justice.

I’ve got everything the Tap did on video all the way to 11. I just hope they’d cleared the drinks up on that Twin Otter before final approach !

Yer being a little harsh there Lazurus if you don’t mind me saying so?

May I be so bold as to make a suggestion ? Let’s say July 10th at Manchester Airport at a suitable rendezvous for 1300 hours ?

What the agenda may be is optional, early/late arrivers most welcome, 10 mins or 3 hours of mutual company as desired.

Rendezvous TBA ! Keep it simple and see what happens.

Worse than being a Gorgie faithful, I was in amongst them with my camera on Saturday, not a pretty sight at the best of times, at least I had my luck Saints hat to protect me from the flying* pies.
