RE: A330s have really bendy wings!!!
I’m just off out to buy my AW World this month. Can we expect an interview with your goodself Capt Wys ?
RE: IB A340 PIC
Yeah… this happened at GLA a few years ago involving a DC-9 of some Spanish charter mob. It took them hours to pull the thing out of the grass/mud. shame I can’t remember more details.
RE: Air Scotland
There’s a fleet list on their website which lists one 757 amongst a raggle taggle collection of DC-10’s. Also found an article from the Canadian aviation authority rejecting their request to fly charters to Canada owing to a failure to meet the required standards.
RE: Air Scotland
TV news report just on confirms Air Scotland will be run by Electra Airlines, a back up 757 will be available and the PR launch of the operation happens today. Flights expected to commence at end of March not May, to the following destinations… Barcelona, Malaga, Palma, Alicante, Tenerife and Fuerteventura. The service will be all year round and not just for the summer season apparently. http://www.air-scotland.com
News also about a proposed Ryanair Prestwick-Stockholm service owing to vast amounts of Scandinavaian shoppers hitting the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh in pursuit of cheap vodka !!! (lol)
RE: JOTD Tues – Murphy’s Laws for Frequent Flyers..
Can I just add that the people most likely to get the window seats on long haul flights are those who instantly pull down the blind, don the blindfold and sleep for ten hours ! Occasionally they will read War And Peace if they are awake !!!!!
RE: Air Scotland
It’s not a low cost airline in the traditional sense, more a fledgling airline set up by a consortium of Glasgow tour operators to save costs on hiring/tempting/paying) the usual suspects to Glasgow Airport.
RE: New Picture of Jet2 !
Nice look, it kind of reminds me of Lauda Air for some reason ?
RE: QANTAS FLIES AIRBUS A330 NONSTOP FROM EUROPE TO AUSTRALIA
I must admit I was a little surprised to find myself going non-stop on an A330 from Dublin to Los Angeles last summer. Not quite in the same league as the Australia flight but a long one for a twin engine all the same. It goes to show what an efficient design the A330 is, and a joy to fly in as well.
RE: Favourite Soviet Built Aircraft?
I still think Soviet airliners look like military types no matter what they do with them, even the modern ones. I suppose my favourite would probably be the Tu-154, favourite military type is without a doubt the mighty Bear ! A beauty.
RE: BREAKING NEWS
It was found today (Sat) no surviviors sadly.
RE: Newcastle
>is that Newcastle, Co. Antrim?
(Voice of Bhoy’s avatar)… “If only we’d had our christmas night out in Newcastle, Co. Antrim ?”
Sorry Bhoy, couldn’t resist. It’s the only fun a St Mirren fan gets these days, see you in the cup !
Follow St Mirren, the closest team to Glasgow Airport !!!
RE: Using photos
Could someone explain to me in layman’s terms how you make a picture appear on here, as I’d like to post some myself ?
RE: LAX los angeles
I was there in June( a week before the El Al desk shootings) and passed through the Tom Bradley terminal which had reasonable viewing points from inside. The revolving restauarant looked good although I didn’t have time to visit it.
RE: BA Fleet news that may interest some of you.
I’ve flown A319’s on GLA-BHX routes in recent years. Any LHR and LGW from GLA have all been B737’s.
RE: BA Fleet news that may interest some of you.
So what will replace the A319’s on the regional routes ?
