RE: Flight report BA8077 LGW-NCL
My last BA shuttle was in October GLA-LGW and I was less than impressed by the service either. I was roughly in the middle of the plane (737) and the serving technique was to start at either end of the plane and meet in the middle. Needless to say there was nowt to my liking by the time they got to me, again a drink and sandwich were all that was on offer anyway. The cabin crew were already in a mood with me after I chose to divide my attention between the pre flight safety demo and a passing American Airlines 767 on the ground at GLA. Got a good telling off for that one !
Someone mentioned BA were getting a bit like US airlines in terms of their manners and service… well my girlfriend flew Continental on business between Glasgow and Newark last spring and filed a similar report of bad tempered cabin crew and poor service. For example, she wanted to have a glass of wine, they said she could have one and that was the limit. If she wanted another drink (7 hour flight) she’d need to buy a bottle from the duty free trolley. They also said they’d only take plastic as payment but actually had no card reader or means to accept the payment. This caused great consternation amongst all of the passengers apparently. The atmosphere on the flight was one of “do as we tell you, or we’ll have you arrested” Not my idea of a fun transatlantic journey.
As for he leather seats, I really don’t mind them at all, and I do think they create a more luxurious look aboard the plane, fabric seats always remind me of being on a bus or train !
And Wys… I think it was on that BA flight I was sat adjacent to a JMC pilot ? Could it have been yourself ? Should have asked really.
