Any one have any updated information on LSAB as it still doesn’t appear to have made an appearance at LBA?

I need to get back up there again. Haven’t been for ages. Then again I am flying to DUB on Friday 😉

Tom, do you know if the 738’s have been introduced on LBA-DUB yet?

    Paul

I know I’m not Tom but the 738’s are making more appearances at LBA however the 732’s are still regular visitors.

Sorry for this thread talking about LBA.

Thomsonfly’s LBA base aircarft has been comfirmed for the summer 2006 season. Its a Boeing 767-200 from May 1st to July 28th then Boeing 757-200 from July 29th until October 31st 2006. Astraeus have comfirmed that they are baseing a Boeing 737-700 all season at LBA.

For more information Check out my website LBASpotters from more details http://www.freewebs.com/rossbailey/index.htm and heres a link for the charter flights details scroll down for Summer 2006 charters. http://www.freewebs.com/rossbailey/charterdestinations.htm
    Hope this helps

Now lets get this thing back to Teeside stuff.

Thanks, will be great to see the 762 back at LBA. Would be even better to see it there all summer or even a 733 as well.

Pretty sure MME-CIA is being dropped at the end of February due to poor yields. Loads were pretty good though

I have flown this route several times and every time except once has the plane been more than two thirds full.
Whilst we’re on the topic of charter flights next summer has it been confirmed what will be based at LBA by TOM?

I know there were no fatalities but the a/c was completely damaged so I beleive this as a fatal crash that could have lead to many fatalities!! 😮

    Great shots.
I’ve been to EMA before but have always struggled to find good spots, the viewing point is fairly poor. Are there any better vantage points?

Well it was an interesting programme but also very sad. Thoughts go out to the families with lost ones of the flights involved.

Although it shouldn’t take an accident (fatal or not) for people to learn what and what not to do, at least we can learn from these mistakes.

I’ve always found it interesting how there have been no fatal accidents involving an A340 or a 777 (for example – I know there are more planes where this will aply). Could it be that the latest technology they’ve developed for these planes make them ‘safe’?

What about the A340 Air France at Toronto a few months ago?

The way I understood it was that Flyglobespan was origionally set up by the Dart Group / Channel Express and operated as Channel Express trading as Flyglobespan. That was before Flyglobespan went it’s own way.

Why would the Dart group start two low costs up when it costs twoce as much in terms of marketing?

    Astraeus

    LGW 4 x 757 G-OAVB, G-OOOB, G-OPJB and 1 to be delivered

    MAN 1 x 737-300 G-STRJ and 1 x 737-700 either G-STRF or RH

    LBA 1 x 737-700 either G-STRF or RH

and 3 737-300s at BHX and EXT operating for Flybe (G-STRA, G-STRE, G-STRI)

G-STRB (737-300) is leaving the fleet to be converted into a freighter.

Not surprised G-STRB is going to be a freighter, went on this a/c this summer from LBA to Larnaca, very poor interior!

Duesseldorf is an interesting choice, would have thought Berlin would be more attractive to tourists, great to see Milan and Venice as well.

I would be surprised if they didnt start a longer route personally, such as Las Palmas/Arrecife or Paphos/Larnaca.

I had a dream last night (seriously!), that Jet2 launched routes to Africa from LBA, and they also launched Dalaman and Norwich from LBA! They announced all the African destinations, and Larnaca from MAN, and they established a base in Dakar! God the things you dream about..

From what I understand Las Palmas and or Arrecife and Larnaca are future routes for next winter from LBA.
