Is it Weald aviation who service the Rnhf sea fury??
Would make sense as they have experience with the mighty Centaurus??
Intriguing!!!!
Just out if curiosity – has Steve Hinton flown a mossie before – or is this a new type to add to his list??
Couldn’t think of anybody better to do the job. That’s some experience on historics!!!
Regardless, This one had different markings to snafu , either someone is flying one secretly over here or I mistook it for something else, I’ll probably never know haha
just to re-cap
a radial engine. yellow around the front, *I think* green on top grey underneath, USAF under one wing, a fuel tank under each wing, does it match the description of anything flying in the UK?
My money is on a Harvard / Texan.
Maybe just Jane could step in for her??
Has the death of Murray slowed things down at precision???? Such a talented guy and came across really well on the chasing warbirds TV program.
That could have been a great series if they decided to do some more.
Any info as to when they will be running up G-MIGG ,Mig 17 at the Weald ,used be be owned by the OFMC a few years back now ,i know they ran it up end of last year
Will the mig be restored to flying???
UK Seafire restorations to airworthy.
Mk III PP972 is scheduled to fly this year and a further Seafire XV is now firmly in the pipeline.

Mark,
The website is currently in the process of being migrated to the Royal Navy web to integrate with the other pages there. This is due to take complete shortly and there will be an announcement on the current site to that effect once it has happened.
It’s been a very busy winter period with lots of things happening behind the scenes. Watch out for a certain magazine soon for further info!
The FB.11 progresses. As you say, it’s been over a year since those first engine runs, but there have inevitably been some shake-down engine runs needed – it was, after all, a complete engine rebuild – 2013 was an incredibly busy season what with the 70th anniversary of the BoA and the commitments of the other aircraft, and also she’s had some special mods fitted which have taken time to sort out as they’ve never been fitted to a Sea Fury before.
Keep a look out for that new website….and a ‘certain’ magazine! 😉
All the best
Lee
Thanks Lee – most appreciated!!
Let’s hope we can see a 4 ship sometime soon!!
All the best for the 2014 season
Mark
I think so…
I copied it off of the Corgi model so it must be right eh?
Oh no they haven’t done one yet:rolleyes:
There is something about black and white underside that I love on an early spit!!!
Fantastic job Roobarb – another simply stunning job that you guys have completed!! Can’t wait to see it out and about
sexual!!!
Oliver Wulff used to have a residence in London, at Canary Wharfe as I recall, and I knew him as a prolific collector of ‘things aviation’ but had no idea that his collection included airworthy aircraft. I met him quite often at shows, and used to bump into him most years at The War & Peace Show buying WW2 aircraft parts and flying equipment.
A bit of googling brings up his projects that are being completed.
Is the P40 he has a share in the French based example little Jeanne???
There is a fantastic write up on the spitfire in flypast. Certainly a fantastic refurbishment (or restoration depending on how you look at it) and the guys at ARCO should be applauded!
I smell a strong whiff of bullsh..
