The wife has just text me to tell me that the Harvard passenger was George Clark – the interior designer of ‘Restoration man’ fame on channel 4. He just tweeted his delight!!!
Thank goodness he’s back!
What kept you?
Cees
The prodigal son returns!!!
A very warm welcome back!!
The trailer is a pre release teaser for a project that is not yet sold to a studio.
The Hanks and Spielberg mini series is titled ‘masters of the air’ after the book with the same name and is due for release sometime in 2015.
With mr grey Jnr being the main man now – does this have any baring on the Beaus future??
Still very quiet on this one.
See also that the me109 has been reduced quite significantly a few months ago. I wonder if the Meier guys have their eye on that one??
this maybe Titch Palliser’s wheels up in Stanford le Hope Essex. cant find my book at mo.
Oooooh my hometown. Any idea whereabouts in Stanford???
Moving onto more important Duxford residents, I was surprised that no one noticed this member of the “family” had come up for grabs. Surely the most desirable “must have” for the warbird collectors fleet:
I understand he (it’s blue so it must be male) is now moving to a new location in the south of England, to tow a Spitfire, T6 and Chipmunk in and out of their hangar, with the occasional foray into the public eye at certain times of the year 😉
Any suggestions for a name? Must begin with “T” of course…
Has to be Trevor….
Great to have this back! Thanks for sorting it guys…….much appreciated!
Cheers
Anthony
I think I speak for the entire forum in saying that it’s great to have DCW back and this magnificent thread, which himself, Brian, and numerous other Duxford regulars contribute to, and make this certain commuters travel into work, all the more entertaining.
Now batten down the hatches – hurricane Barry or whatever it’s called, is about to lash the Uk with 20mph winds…
With G ROBT there or there abouts as well, it’s hurricanes galore!!!
The thruxton example example painted in Rhodesian silver will look a stunner as well!!
And you can’t forget the sad station dog as he realises his master isn’t coming home !
Looking mighty fine!!!
Hi Sopwith
Not sure why you got hassle for asking. She is coming along fine. Never as quick as we would like, mainly from distractions of other work, but structural work pretty much complete. Still a fair bit of re-asembly to do but on schedule to fly by year end. With all the paint to make good, considering a change of livery. Any ideas?Genuine enquiries from interested forumites always welcome. D***heads just trying to score points less so.
Bruce- perhaps a better forum etiquette would be to fix the search facility!!
For gods sake, If you do change the livery, make sure the roundels are the right colour, otherwise the roundel police will be on your case!!
Thanks for the update
Big enough to house a certain Lancaster for maintenance??
Any more news on this birds sale? What are the chances of this coming to Europe?
That looks like a brilliant peice of flying. The airframe doesn’t look too badly damaged at all!! Great effort indeed but more importantly the pilot wasn’t harmed.
