It’s not, it’s some fella pretending to be a woman for some reason…..
P.S. Any fan of the Chipmunk is a friend of mine. Did you ever have the screws on your rocker covers fail? I keep coming across more occurrances of this. Worrying.
No never had that problem, gasket on the oil filter fail, vacuum pump and I became quite used to giving the impulse a quick tap now and again. I ended up flying about 500 hours over two summers in them and became a lifelong fan.
DBW: I missed you your original gripe, but if you want to run it past Auntie Janie, I’d be delighted to resolve any personal or emotional problems your are having. Flying usually resolves most problems.
Now, did somebody mention a fly in?
The original ‘misunderstanding’ was prior to the Leicester fly-in and quite forgotten, no need to go into it again. However on this occasion trinny had a ‘pop’ at me in post No 11 of this thread. I think he/she just likes to wind people up. Incidentaly I like your choice of aircraft, I’ve owned two in the past myself and am toying with looking for another.
Is it possible that you are taking yourself just a little too seriously DBW?
Or maybe you are? I don’t think you are going to answer are you? I guess we will just have to draw our own conclusions then. I’m guessing Trinny is actually a fella with a latent desire to be female then.
Well of course you are.
I see you haven’t answered the question so I’ll put it in easy terms.
Are you actually
a) a male who gets some sort of perverse kick out of pretending to be a woman?
or
b) a woman on steriods or some such medication?
Shouldn’t be too difficult to type a or b in your reply.
Poor old DBW! You really know how to hold a grudge! I must admit, I had to look quite hard to remind myself why you feel so hard done by.
I think that the time has come to get over your little problem. So you missed the big thread with the obvious title “LEICESTER FLY-IN” and asked where the Fly-in was…. So you got teased a bit. Worse things happen at sea.
I hope that you and the “fun guys” get over your little hissyfit soon. There is a lot to be said for female company once you macho types have calmed down, lowered the testosterone levels and remembered that this is supposed to be a fun pastime – not a competition.
Now cut the macho crap please, there’s a dear.
I’m confused, a mate of mine who went to Leicester reckons you are in fact a hairy male JP driver.
If that is true why the pretence of being a woman? Do you harbour a secret or not so secret transsexual desire, have a split personality, half female or bat for the other team?
perhaps you could enlighten me? there’s a dear.
Another aimless ‘let’s have a fly-in’ thread.
I’m out anyway – the Colt’s on annual and Trinny is off elsewhere.
Moggy
Bonus! if they go to Norwich the restaurant won’t have to get baby seats out for Mog and Trinny. Moderator moderate thyself
No wonder the fun guys have p***ed off to Plane Talk.org
You’ve obviously been talking to DP who has probably embellished some stories!!
🙂
Bet they are accurate, and as for photo’s I’ve got plenty of incriminating one’s of you Mr Barrell.
On the other hand, if the Southampton Spitfire’s are from ARC at Duxford they have got to go back to base and if that happened to be on the Sunday…….
Of course they may overnight at Southampton.
I agree with everything Gromit has to say and would add that before you buy a share have a look at the way the group is set up, does it have a written agreement for instance that details how it is run and how you would leave the group when you want to sell?
I’d also advise you to meet the other shareholders and see how you get on with them. Ask how many shares are for sale, if the are several it’s a sign of a badly run group. I know of at least one group that has 50% of its shareholders clamouring to sell.
Insurance is another issue, you would be jointly and severally liable for any damages caused by the aircraft so avoid anything that doesn’t hold adequate 3rd party cover.
Don’t let all that put you off though, aircraft ownership, group or sole may or may not be more expensive in the long run but it does afford far more freedom than hiring from a school/club if you want to fly more than a couple of times a month.
So weather being friendly it looks like
Trinny
Ozplane
Gromit
Deano
Swift
GASML
Flyer01
Yakrider
Y11F if he doesn’t mind getting muddy
Blue (brown) Robin
JanieNeal H on the ground.
11 aircraft in all
What happened to the Norwich laddies with their fleet of Stearpersons?

Apart from the weather forecast, we didn’t think we could possibly contend with yours and trinny’s sparkling characters and banter. Not to mention the witty retorts.
For Norwich Airport to move to Colt would probably be uneconomical, apart from the need to build a terminal, new hangars would have to be built to house the current KLM maintenance operation as the Colt ones aren’t big enough. Also don’t forget it isn’t that long ago that Omniport purchased Norwich Airport from the council, or at least 80% of it. I don’t think they would abandon the investment they have made. Plus all the stuff Auster Fan said about road infrastructure etc.
Currently reading an autobiography by an American who joined the RAF and flew Spitfires.
When he joined up he had his US citizenship and passport immediately revoked.
DBW, I think you may have woken up with your serious head on today!!!
Reading this as an innocent bystander I think Trinny has been fairly tongue in cheek.
If you think, count me out of any forum fly in though. I couldn’t keep up with the witty retorts.
I wouldn’t go or not go based on my “attitude”. It isn’t my fly-in, I hope that I have played a roll in goading people into actually getting on with it rather than just talking about it though.
As for experience, well, being a girl, I am not into willy-waving competitions. I think I can probably hold my own (so to speak).
I would suggest then, before getting sarky and making assumptions about peoples experience and abilities that you have a good think and don’t be so inflammatory. GA needs to pull together, not bicker and be patronising to lesser experienced. Next time someone asks you a civil question that you may be able to answer from your obviously vast experience try to help instead of demonstrating your condesending attitude and it wasn’t ‘willy waving’ at all, my partner (girl) also flies and agrees that you have a condescending attitude.
