Guess it was my dinner that led to the 19 second record breaking f@rt then…!!

Possibly, I guess you are going for the Boomer 2006 title then?
If you are going for the forum fly-in and S’man is still in the barn, take the FW and I’ll take the Yak?

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the welcome, I’ve come across your name in the past flying in to Old Buck! Wonder if we’re related?

😮 I hope not, one’s more than enough. There wouldn’t be enough food in the world for two DB’s 🙂

Andrea’s cooking is second to none, even if mine goes cold cos the bl**dy plane won’t start!!

It didn’t go cold, Boomer ate it!

Nice fleet, I have noticed that a lot of clubs have broadened their fleets/appeal nowadays, quite a change from when I last flew.

I will add Norwich to my list of destinations, once I get my wings back, be nice to fly in there again after all of these years!

I’m sure you will be very welcome, just ask to park at hangar 10, remember to book a training rate with ATC! Or give the club a call on 01603 301991 or 01603 412888 and get them to sort it for you. You can even pre-book your lunch so its ready when you arrive!

Will it be open invite?? If so count me in – post the phone number here or PM me.

Video footage that “turns up” can be dodgy – as you well know

    Fnarr fnarr!!!

Yep, I believe all are welcome, not just club members. I’d call Andrea on 01603 301991, but watch out, when I called she had a bit of a cold!

So is this the club that replaced Anglia Flight Training that I learnt at in the mid ’80s?

No, it was set up long after the old AFT closed and doesn’t have any links with them I believe. They have some interesting aircraft apart from the ‘normal’ C150 aerobats for PPL training which include a Yak 52, FW190 replica and, under rebuild, another 150 which they plan to turn into a taildragger with 150 hp and a T6 Harvard. Apart from that they have probably the best club facilities in East Anglia with a lovely first floor bar/restaurant overlooking the runway with panoramic windows. A lot of PPL’s fly in from different airfields for Sunday roast nowadays. Have a look at their website.

    What?? Including marriages??

Yep, he’s the only guy I know who got married, had a baby and filed for divorce in 10 months flat!

Are you going to the talk/video show on the opening of the first Norwich Airport on Mousehold in 1931 if they organise it? I can’t wait to see this video footage that has turned up, apparentely its the only footage of Mousehold aerodrome around.

Yep, thanks, was great fun. Loved your pressie DB. Also loved the ‘James McCormick Challenge Trophy for doing something stupidly funny’. Hope my name never gets on it. Bet yours does in 2006 though!
Thought the meal they put on was terrific, noticed SC had double everything!

Don’t know what all the fuss is about DB, you manage to drive to Norwich from Duxford in an hour yet, if I recall correctly, you were 45 minutes late flying 30 miles from Monewden to RV for onwards to Rougham in the S’man last season. No camera crews involved. Answer that one matey!

Hey DB, remember the Anglia Flight lot flew 2 C150’s from Majorca to Norwich in a day in 2004!

Loved the pilots comments on the Pup picture, the remarks wrote on by the Spit driver were amusing as well. Love the idea of the signed picture wall.

I’ve called about the Christmas do and they have told me that there is a ‘Hannibal Lecter’ mask reserved for you as a trough was too expensive!

I’ve also been e-mailed an in cockpit picture of you inverted in the Yak when you were driving from up front, lucky bar stool!

Think I might have a go in it myself next month.

    See you on the 22nd.

Saw that you had got the Stearman on the wall! Nice to see that its not just pics of military and display pilots up, ‘normal’ GA pilots have a go as well.

I’ll be at the Christmas do as well, see you then. Leave some food for the rest of us!

P.S. I’ve lost their phone number and would like to fly in to Norwich for a meal, can you let me have it please.

Just uploaded a short clip of Spitfire NH188 on its last flight in 1964 Ottawa.

    http://www.jerrybilling.com/jerry_billing_video.htm

Jerry Billing at the controls, was shot out of a DC3 with the side door removed.

    No sound thou 🙁

    Enjoy Dave

He was shot out of the side door 😮 hope he didn’t hit the Spitfire on the way!
