A black sheep in the Black Watch then. Wonder why and where the 5th BW were at the time. They appear to have spent some time in India during the 20s. I hope you manage to find out more.
Might be worth posting on this forum too –
Fantastic work – looking really good!
For those who think there are not many Strathallan photos around can I recommend a look at the following sites –

Andrew Hilton has put together a magnificent collection of photographs of Strathallan including many belonging to Dick Richardson who managed the Collection for several years.
Presumably the Mohawk was HM503, the impressment guise of G-AEKW. Or on second thoughts more likely the Curtiss P-36 type? Which would be more likely?
Not sure that there is any aviation activity at Fraserburgh nowadays though I may be wrong. It may be Peterhead however. I have a vague memory that a homebuilt biplane was started/stored in that area some years ago. Sorry can’t remember type.
Thanks Mothminor. I have also got boxes of slides that my uncle took. This one might interest you.

Thanks Tony. Great pic of the Forth Bridge under construction. It was opened in 1964. Rosyth Naval Dockyard in the background.
Your photo #52 is also Copenhagen – The Gefion Fountain on the harbour front.
I noticed the poster on the door in post #12. Did cabin crew back then do a safety briefing before flights akin to what we get today?
Tony – yes please can you post the landmark photos.
There’s some great Dove footage on Youtube. If there’s one in which the audio is what you are looking for I would suggest contacting the original poster and asking if they wouldn’t mind you using the audio on your site. From there it is simply a case of ripping the mp3 from the video with an audio extractor. You need to have a Youtube account though to be able to contact the poster.
The high-wing aircraft behind the sportsplane in Consul’s shot RT is a CANT Z1010 –
It seems to have the same engine and wing shape as the sportsplane which may well also be a CANT design.
Agree with the upper limit of 1977. At the Strathallan show of ’78 she seems to have a solid red tail and no race number.

Thanks for identifying the Duran plane. What an incredible history it has had – http://www.vickersviscount.net/Index/VickersViscount391History.aspx
Sad that it seems to have been left to rot away.
So am I right in saying there were different designs of these tanks? If you compare Scorpion’s picture above of XT661 (in which the tank seems to wrap around the wing) with the one of the Duran Duran tour plane –
http://www.theguardian.com/music/gallery/2013/dec/10/duranduran-photography#/?picture=424536164&index=5 in which they seem more flush to the top of the wing. Simple progression or a difference between military and civil standards?
Found it! Photo on here –
Quite a few used them – for an example see photos on this superb tribute site: http://www.vickersviscount.net/Pages_Photos/Photos_CNGalleryLarge.aspx

Thanks – that is an amazing site!
