Manchester Museum of Science and Industry:prime venue?
They have an Avro 707 so why not ‘complete’ the story with the nose or more of ‘603? Seems an ideal place for me. Well, it’s birthplace would be ideal but nevermind.

I’ve been told there allegedly was an airfield audit and the Vulcan is a ‘hazard’. Not been worked on for a while and it will be scrapped so i’ve been told. 🙁

Does anyone keep tabs on the 707? I want to make a journey to Southend from Manchester to see it fly.

Would this be the warton example? Just me being nosey! 😮

Well, one report (June newsletter) says they need volunteers to do repairs but the site says it’s being scrapped. I would like to think the latter may be some kind of motivation to people to help out. Just me being hopelessly optimistic I suppose.

This has a link to the associations June newsletter that seems to paint a more promising picture for the Guppy and a desolate one for the yukon. 🙁

Another unique aircraft lost then. 🙁
Reading through the last archived newsletter on the site, there seems to be a lot of politics involved.

Fly it to kemble for a comparison between Britannia and ‘expanded’ Cl-44? Plus you could ground run them together!!! 🙂
Let’s hope it gets saved.
