believe is 25 searcher-1, 100 Searcher-2 (option for 100 more),
a couple dozen nishant and ~50+12 Herons so far..
…(not all have been delivered yet). IAI is also working with DRDO for 3 new families of UAV (small, medium and large) under a separate deal. a few lost
to crashes.
good photos here:-

apparently IN is also using searcher

India certainly has one of the biggest UAV fleets in the world and its likely
to get even bigger. there are whispers of a jstars type GMTI payload on
the big Heron.
well! the IN+Coast guard have also been jointly operating Heron for sometime now…..way out over the sea.
it is very likely engines in the 50k lb peak thrust can be fashioned from the F136/F135 families…just a matter of time. should permit JSF to sprint around like F-15C in intercept role. 20% thrust improvement is certain….maybe more if radical redesigns are done.
todays F136/135 is just the starting block.
if Typhoon is on the plate as MRCA, they ought to have brought a few
Typhoon has been to red flag iirc.
> total J-10 production
what are you basing this on ? has the PLAAF officially released details on J-10
ordered and delivered ?
> It is also not in the PLA mentality to show off
😀

aye sox, the landing speed was unusually high. dont know if it was a ‘test’ or the pilot just wanted to visit the restroom quickly.

the grey painted bird looks very nice
A big LRMP maybe able to carry different ASMs underwing but a fighter would get its balance upset. perhaps each fighter can carry a single type but a strike formation could have 2-3 types.
the french certainly would be glad to make money integrating Exocet with the Mig29K system.
Tejas PV-3 first flight is shortly expected. observers passing thru bangalore airport report it being openly parked infront of hanger. taxi trials have been ongoing for some time.
has the RAF tornado GR-x fleet moved totally to LGB usage from medium/high alt or they still use the great lo-lo-lo treetop level ability of the tornado for ccip bombing and ingressing hostile regions ?
Harry is it the service book of a captured POW in 1971 ? where did you obtain the photo ?
Kalyan, An-12 has been retired long ago. the AN-32 (most of them) was getting a more powerful engine from OEM in ukraine (?) does anyone know current status on this.
the Mi26 is used for only few purposes – the occasional trip to rescue down a/c, lifting some ultra large machinery in hills. very expensive to fly and lot of work. not remotely worth it. the sikorsky skycrane atleast could lift standardized pallets….good idea for decoupling the loading operation away from the IAF staff.
I wonder if a next-gen helo can made with a modular cockpit with a standard passenger cabin, deluxe cabin, side-open ‘battlehawk’ SH60 style, EW console cabin and skycrane mode cargo pallets ..all plugged in as per need ??
sub SSN building is a longish process for first timers, you get better after the first 15 :diablo:
so the design would have been frozen few yrs ago to give enough time for producing the parts inhouse and searching the russian industry for the rest.
so its certain the design would more like a Victor-III or early model Akula than
a Akula2 or Sbinsk…..the last victor-III was commisioned in 1994. the hull shape and towed sonar atop tailfin is very similar to Akula. more importantly its 6100 tons hence the design nicely scales 1:1 to rumoured size of ATV, the Akula design would need rework to shave 30% weight off.
I am sticking with a victor-III design with more modern avionics and weapons ofcourse
