Despite mutterings from some guards, there’s nothing to prevent you from knocking up a clamp and flexible arm to attach to the railings of the walkway in order to get long exposures (when hordes of marauding children allow). I’ve rigged up a Manfrotto super clamp to a triple jointed magic arm with a quick release tripod shoe at the end. This allows you a great deal of flexibility and reach in areas where you can’t use a tripod.
David, if you visit when it’s raining you’ll not quite a few buckets around the floor.
It’s not a hoax, Bruce.
What a beauty. Well done Andrew.
Reading the CWH website -the Lancaster had a replacement wing centre section in 1952 from a combat veteran Lancaster . Out of interest which machine was this and where was it based in the U.K ?
There’s a photo in this thread http://forum.planetalk.net/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=4995
Purely from memory, I think the lower ailerons are pulled from below and the bungees are attached to the top of the top wing ailerons.
James, the Hawker Cygnet’s got bungee sprung ailerons.
Here’s G-EBZM at MOSI in Manchester.

Bob Diemert could have that flying in no time at all.
…..and there is a B-24 at Cosford.
John, that B-24 has been at Hendon for a few years now.

Another one was XG454 “B” that I saw at Bicester October 1961: just the damaged fuselage. It is now at the Manchester Museum I believe.
It is indeed.
