I was posted to Finningley in 1973 or maybe it was ’74. I’m sure it was ’73 though. Did you get any photos in either year?
I was guarding a Lightning.
Rather shamefully, the evening before, I accidentally spilled plastic polish on the wing of the ME 262 (polishing the canopy). I wanted to clean it up, and said so, but there wasn’t enough time and the NCO IC wanted his tea!
The nightmare haunts me to this day. 🙁
Sorry for delay…..I’m waiting for a decent scanner then I can post some old pix (I’ve got boxes of em….maybe youre in there somewhere)
