I can’t see him not recording this, mind you, he might be a little bit busy seeing as he is her crew chief… 😮

I’d love to be at Brunty’s main gate now. It hasn’t reverberated to the sounds of 558 for 8 years!! :diablo:

Save the cockpit, spares recover and scrap the rest.

Never thought of that. What a great idea!! Do you work for the Government? 🙁

XM600 featured in a ATV program in 1973 Where the Big Birds Fly – Calendar Special. The crew flew XM600 out to Goose and the TV crew followed them around. Interview by Nav Robbie Stewart of Gulf War 1 fame.

The internal shots show the crew flying to practise a nuc bomb drop from 500ft? and also the RPM guages show 0% power because the internal shots used the crew trainer at Scampton/Waddington.

I bought this off you about 3 years ago Paul and the low level filming, especially the bit where she roars over the camera at about 150ft is fantastic!! 😀

See above, but Anglesey, Durham and Spilsby were all successful abandonments.

Everyone got out of XA891, the B2 electrical system testbed, in ’59 after she had a total electrical failure over Hull.

…the blister glass is a different kettle of fish. By all means try, but as I have said before, standard SOP was to place a 60 ton jack under the window and jack the aircraft up off the floor by the window alone, leaving the weight on, until the window gave way. Which was often a day or two later!!!!!

Being sold by our old friend, Paul Hartley. He is also selling a copy of “617: Last Days of a Vulcan Squadron” on DVD, which features the last 4 ship QRA scramble from Scampton at the start. Brilliant!! :diablo:

I believe 603’s radome was removed a couple of days ago to be fitted to 558 in the next couple of days while 558’s is readied for flight. Can anyone grab a picture?
