Looking at the 149 occurrences in the 1956 ASN safety database, there is no similar location as mentioned in the log-book. So maybe it was a military aircraft and the crash wasn’t ever officially documented…

Laurence, the plane crashed 1956 – right?

Think photos of this Heron as G-AMSP will also be rare. Jackson’s BCA Vol II shows a first flight date of 02 April 53 and delivery to Canada as CF-EYX via Prestwick 03 April 53.
The transfer is quoted in FLIGHT magazine August 28, 1953

We had one sample S.of the border at Tgu, Honduras c. 1969-1970. It belonged to a Co. name “Aero-Servicios” with the reg HR-ASN. C/n 14009. Unfortunately, it crashed while on approach to Rwy 19 at famous Toncontin airport on May 26, 1970, claiming the lives of the crew & 4 pax. (RIP).
According to witness, some 0.7 N.M from touchdown it made a violent bank to the left & then flipped up-side down crashing in a ravine nearby. We never heard the results of the accident investigation of that sad day in Honduras commercial aviation. Pictures of DH Heron 114, HR-ASN are rare.
This should be HR-ASN
