pagen.Thanks for adding some photo`s, like you said a wide variety which is nice to see.some of the pics seem to indicate that you were the “wrong” side of the barriers.how did you manage that? still you got up nice and close.

Blue Max.thanks for mentioning sywell,unfortunately my browser crashes everytime i go to the site,but i`ll work on that.

thanks for another three great replies.

cliffair,we are not going to consider culdrose because it is in cornwall,we are going to treat ourselves and travel out of county for a few days.i`ve noted the fact that your wife enjoyed shuttleworth,thanks.

johnr,i`m expecting problems getting in and out of which ever venue i end up visiting,but thanks for the warning.now kemble there`s a thought,again it`s nice to have a view of a show from someone who has been.

Lima1,Bournemouth and Eastbourne. Thats another two i didn`t know about.making a weekend of it is exactly what we are planning on.many thanks

Ladies and Gents.many thanks to the four of you for your replies.Rob68,yes i had thought of yeovilton as it`s the closest but i don`t know much about it.Orion,i had put shuttleworth on my short list and Flygirl,i hadn`t even thought of shoreham so thanks for that.Moggy c, thanks for the description of duxford and shuttleworth.i`ve got a year to decide, but which ever airshow i choice to attend i shall enjoy and to be honest i`ll be like a kid in a sweet shop because it will be the first for years.i`m looking forward to everyone`s airshow photo`s

glad it brings back memories pagen,i`ve never been to SAINTS so i can`t say where on the base the shot was taken.

there are some lovely shots on this thread,it was nice to see shots of SM with real aircraft and not the things they`ve got there now. thanks

this was taken at RAF ST ATHEN in 1979.sorry about the yellow marks,these can`t be seen on the photo but the scanner has picked them up

i credit this photo to an unknown air traffic snco (in 1980),i will withdraw it if anyone is unhappy with this post.

i have a picture of a phantom painted up to celebrate the first none stop transatlantic flight.however,it was not taken by me but by an air traffic snco,he had taken two pictures and gave me one.what are the rules about me posting this pic? i don`t want to offend anyone by posting it.
