t is your vote that might re-elect him or her in the future

Er actually not in my case, a constituency boundary change will take place for the next election. My small town of 6000 people will have the constituency at its centre so we will in effect have our own new MP 🙂

    Still worth writing in though.

Write to Lembit Opik also? He seems quite keen on his flying hobby and can feed the issue into the All-Party Aviation Group he is involved with.

Barry lots of people are signing the online petition which is good in that it shows widespread support, however there’s nothing to say any human will get to act on the issues entered.

Therefore I feel it is key people still write in.

I’d like to do a visit face-to-face but the preparation is too great and I may fluff my presentation. Better to get it all down in writing eh?

I am adapting the PPS concerns in an email to my MP at the moment. I will BCC you when complete.

Whats the current situation with Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire.? Is it also taken over by the car industry?

When I last flew past on 29th Oct, there were no cars there. IIRC Heyford was the car park for Rover so this would explain why.

Owned by the Yanks? British soil? Shirley it is MoD land?

You will probably glean most information regarding the syllabus and testing requirements, both theory and flying from JAR-FCL1 at http://www.jaa.nl. For an official document it is not that arduous to go through.

There is a AOPA book which also describes the PPL flying syllabus. This might be useful as a secondary reference and is usually available from pilot stores.

On the issue of a question bank. The CAA has its own set of questions not drawn for a central question bank.

Bristol groundschool do something similar on http://atponline.gs but for ATPL and http://www.aviationexam.com/. Both were able to cobble together most of the core questions because they obtained the JAA central question bank and so had a head start.

You would not have this head start and would find yourself having to ask a to of students to feedback questions they saw in their exam before you could even begin to offer a viable product.

From there you will want to maintain currrency and be able to track withdrawn and introduced exams questions. As Dean said, an undertaking 😮

You could clean up if you did something for PPL exams online a la Bristol but it is not something that will pay off straightaway. Bristol are charging £50 for 90 days. You may also find people will buy the cheaper book format PPL Confuser instead, however with an accurate database, they may think otherwise.

What do they want specifically?

Would a ground school syllabus do? Or do you want a whole ground school, or question bank online?

Do you recall last Tuesday the board was offline for about 6 hours? There was a upgrade for the forum software from vbulletin 3.0.something (forget now) to 3.6.4.

There was a few glitches on the way thanks to that lovely new product on the market called “Internet Explorer 7” and the process took far longer than anticipated. Webbie I heard developed a few more furrow lines in his brow trying to get the whole show running again, all for our benefit …

He had a suspicion one of the glitches may have corrupted the “quick reply” button. If you right click the button and tell it to open in a new window, it does work. So we are aware of the problem. 🙂

Perhaps next you can do a guide to accurate NDB holds and arrivals? 🙂
