Some very pretty Piper tail wheels there. Love the Vagabond.
Say what you will about some of the past tactics of Dr P of Vulcan fame, but initially prior to that they tried to engage singular large donors and very little in the way of the general public. Is this what’s happening here?
The public appetite for the spectacle that is an air show remains strong. What other format, besides sport, can bring a diverse crowd of old, young, enthusiast, mum, dad, kids etc together?
Groan. See me after class 😀
Looks like tonnes of fun! 😎
You forgot crated spitfires in the Australian desert
Anyone feel they want to tweet Hannah Furness?
In view of any solid location, this story is open to rash speculation. Also poor timing for here. Tread carefully.
Please please can I be a Shuttleworth pilot. Even if it were a chippy or maggie. That’d be so cool.
A simple letter from the CAA to Stephen Gray.
Dear Stephen, having reviewed all the paperwork we must sincerely apologise for the ex-employee who suggested you would be too old to fly a Beaufighter.
Feel free to finish the restoration and drop by Gatwick on your first flight
Love and kisses, your cuddly CAA x x
If Santa doesn’t bring that, I’d happily forge it!
Well it led me to go and look at one other connie videos, then remember a trip in the Jodel via Manston where we landed whilst Dutch Connie was waiting at the hold. What a noise!
Melvcock, what’s up with your lovely aeroplane? The Popham circuit is missing a star if you’re grounded?
That would be a hunter, probably the nicest looking jet the British built of its era!
This high up moderator seems to have overreacted because he/she has no proper guidelines.
Yet again to reiterate, the site management, lets be clear here. The moderators area team of trusted, voluntary individuals who dedicate their time to contributing, helping others out and taming those that step out of line occasionally.
However a legal threat against a business is something, as Moggy said earlier, above our pay grade.
Seriously though, Andy has been banned before and was quietly let back in. Do you guys remember? I’m hoping this will happen for both he and Peter. Until then, I suspect much is armchair willy waving as I have highlighted above. Due process has to be followed within the internal confines of the business and they don’t operate at weekends. The process is analogous to giving garden leave to an employee whilst the matter can be investigated properly. It’s a very wise and neutral position to take.
There is absence of any publishing or legal experience being contributed here on the forum, which would be a matter of opinion anyway, so I don’t think much insight yearned for here can be gained on what could or could have not been done better, legally, morally or otherwise. The best advice is to sit tight. These things have a habit of sorting themselves out in the end.
Bob. What you say already happens in effect. They are standard vbulletin features. However as pointed out by Moggy earlier here, a permanent ban ensures any control of that ban solely remains in the hands of the publisher.
