When taking the shot, would using a polarised filter help remove the window reflection?

    Great pic, Will.

Hmmmm, that’s the third UK Maule incident this year that I’ve heard of. Onl know detaisl of two though of which there is nothing to tie them together or with long-term trends.

If they’re still being repeated, catch the “Photo of Britain” series on BBC4.

Situation and being in the right place at the right time helps composition immensely imho.

The Storch was featured a FLYER article (iirc) within the last couple of months. I’ll try and dig it out for those that are unaware of this airframe’s background. Basically the owner has spent an awful lot of time spending, building, protecting, modifying and filling in of paperwork. Top drawer stuff imo.

Another Robin 200-esque clone (yawn). What we need is two or three popular types with big manufacturer backing. Alas the reverse is this case and each type jockeys for position. They don’t sell that well… there’s only a finite market of private operators in my estimation. The real money is with the ab initio school. These new group A machines need to be affordable and EASA CofA certified. So what of they don’t have carb heat or mix levers? One can leave that for conversion onto type. Once the operator gets his head around the Rotax issue (now with increased TBO times) all that’s left wanting is a ready supply of cheaper, unleaded fuel.

She said There’s something in the woodshed
    and I can hear it breathing… 😉

I think it helps if you give kids a healthy dose of risk in life. I watched Whistle Down the Wind last night and if the kids were realistic enough (’61) they walked about for miles. Are we smothering them too much?

I did pillion on a Honda Cub at age 7 and was sh!t scared though. 😮 You may now laugh!

Wellesbourne 02-Aug-05 £1.01 EX VAT 😮 Aeroshell slapped a nice round 5p/ltr rise on the airfield yesterday. Suspicious? I am.

Guys and girls, if you’re at Wellesbourne this week I urge you to dive into the airfield manager’s office, near the museum, and take a look at the plans on his wall. Alternatively they are displayed in Council office in Stratford.

For those that can’t, I have conceptualised the approximate location on Wellesbourne’s AIP plate. I should add exact location may be off as is scale.

Here is the file: http://www.bluerobin.flyer.co.uk/egbwconcept.jpg (look for the two black blobs on the NE of the field).

The basic details are as follows. The plan shows two warehouse units. Number 1 is 9200 sq metres whilst number 2 is 4500 sq metres. Each will be used for lorry distribution having 10 and 6 bays respectively. This is a prime location being located next to a main road with the Fosse a short drive ot the south and the A46/M40 a few miles to the north. The development will be 15 metres high and displaced 300 metres from the already displaced 23 threshold.

The worry of course for pilots is safety. With a building that high it is conceivably like Coventry that a warehouse development such as this will effectively shut the runway for good. This then makes a further flight safety issue by only having 18/36 available. Not good for taildragging and moreso “interesting” for students at a busy fixed-wing training airfield. This may also have an impact on the airfield business…

As for the locals, right across the road is Wellesbourne itself. With 16 bays, that’s a lot of traffic therefore pollution and noise.

I think the meeting is next week. More information when I hear of it.
