There’s also a few photos on Mark Brotherton’s excellent website

I like photos of the Ops boards and you’ll see they had YB40s! 🙂
No radome, so G-AMRA probably.
I’m personally of the opinion that if you have to go around for any safety reason, including if ATC have mucked up their timings and cleared someone to depart, then you should not get charged for that approach. I would be concerned if the pilot’s final check included the cost of a go-around and his/her decision-making mindset was affected so.
However if your declared intention is for a low approach and go-around, say for training, then fair enough charge me. I nay not land off the approaches anyway if I’m practising at an away field.
When will Simon Snorkel hydraulic lifts do away with stepladders and become an acceptable standard for taking photos at airshows?

Very Douglas Adams – what is THE ultimate question? 🙂

I’ve considered the local strips on the chart. Dunkeswell will have AVGAS but that’s a 20 mile round trip for you. Westonzoyland nr Bridgewater is a bit nearer and might have it, but they operate microlights so will probably have their own supply of forecourt unleaded. Worth asking though.
Graham,
PM your location and I’ll see if I can tell you where your nearest outlets are. Sounds like AVGAS is just a bit cheaper than 4-star. AVGAS “100 LL” is packed with lead (up to 0.56 g/litre) and even without the lead, the fuel itself chemically superior to road fuel. If all the warbirds in this country can run on it, there is no reason why the Meteor can’t! Shell has some details here
Due to a risk of contamination apparently any container (jerry) you use to transport AVGAS cannot then be used to put other fuels in, even with flushing after use.
£1.53 per litre for AVGAS Graham? Try shopping around
Oh and get some proper ear protection! :diablo:
Nick, did you see that Bob Davy in the current issue of Loop has reiterated that the Soko Kraguj is the worst aircraft he has ever flown?
Getting a job
