As I no longer frequent the airfield, I’d like to know too! What with the Lancaster restoration being excellently covered here, the progress of the Heron has been deathly quiet.
Incidentally, is the check being funded privately by its owner? Would be a shame to see it become an economic write-off *if* the rumour has any merit.

I see they have had a redesign with some content going astray e.g. the history section still in the old site format is not totally obvious to find from the front page 🙁
That is the issue with print these days, too much competing on the interweb for one’s attention and usually for free
Though it goes against natural intuition (“we’re giving away the family silver”) sometimes you have to out a web version of your print out there for free in order to stay competitive. There can be an added bonus, some studies have suggested paper version go up by 10% or more.
Effectively they have got themselves an ATZ befitting the length of the runway
Watch out for the all the transits busting the airspace who haven’t read the NOTAMs, phoned the 0500 or are in two-way communication with a ground station e.g. Coventry. 🙂
