If you have been following the developments in this story you’ll see that the “unauthorised” comment is likely pointing at the airfield’s permitted use under its planning permission. Which strangely enough seems care and maintenance, not an active airfield.

One thought: If Kemble has been in use as an active airfield for at least ten years, will it be possible to apply for a Lawful Development Certificate?

Eh? Why would Brunty need to be licenced? You generally only need a licenced aerodrome to conduct public transport flights and and those flights that require training for the grant of a licence.
