Tell us more about the Mk 9, is it flying yet?
As bacon and Carlsberg…probably 🙂
CGI? It was more a splice and overlay of B&W film (yes probably done into a computer). The IWM got a credit, but no meniton of a certain film which would still carry rights, so I guess the IWM donated some footage. Could therefore be that taken at the time of the tests and subsequently used in the film featuring Mr Redgrave?
The shot of the Lanc coming around the headland and bombing off the coast made it look like it was doing about 500mph, Tornado speeds 😀
Moggy, I would but just the once to see
Aahhh that would have been a great sight to watch. And the noise! 😀
What about if flying over inhospitable terrain as I suggested?
They seem to having read the textual data from the AIP:

No legal requirement to file flight plans? Doesn’t mean you don’t have to. Don’t some European countries insist for VFR?
I think I shall, if flying over inhospitable terrain in the future, file a flight plan. Might not save me, but it would help the family know sooner.
An Arrow 3 apparently

So much so you could even forget the issue of single engine vulnerability for a while.
Just before starting up for the first session, my FI piped up and said “you do realise the options available to you in the event of an engine failure don’t you?” 😮 😮 😮
Shocked by the timing of thew question, I took a moment to compose myself and think, replying “hmm well yes but I guess it’s a necessary evil toward the CPL” 😮
The enroute (1.6.2.1) section of the “air pilot” manual explains it all and more here

How does one get one’s hands one, please Mister?
Ian Seager took some good shots of the RNHF Chippy for this month’s edition of FLYER
