I think I see a story about a Bmi sell-off every year. Sir MB is 65 so I reckon it will be within 10 years.

Solid state so they are pretty durable. I have seen this done before with flash drives and all’s been okay. You don’t get much in the way of potentially-damaging, large EM fields/electricity going on in a washer I guess?

I thought this thread was about organised crime!

Depends on reception in an area e.g. someone must be feeding their SBS1 box onto the Internet, which in turn relies on aircraft having Mode S transponders. Any lower-modes wouldn’t show up.

Plus the above airfields you highlighted aren’t that busy for projecting large jets into the sky. 🙂

    OpenATC

    Some brief instructions

    1. Download latest Google Earth from
    http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html then install it
    2. Go to http://www.openatc.com/ge.asp and click “Yes I agree”. If
prompted by your browser, click OK and Google Earth will run.
    3. In Google Earth, go to the Places panel on the left, drop down
Temporary Places, then OpenATC Air Traffic then check the Europe box.

    Note:
    i) When exiting Google Earth, it will prompt you to save the
    above changes. Click No.
ii) OpenATC have a little rule that means you have to repeat steps 2 and 3 every time you want to look at the traffic.

Yes it was roughly on a course from Le Touquet to Hastings and then would have passed over Sevenoaks.

Moggy’s group is ARNE, a two-seat Colt, now featuring a zero-timed engine. Cheapest flying your area!

Thanks Paul, spot on landing too! I am shortly to start my night qualification and apparently my landings will improve massively as there is less to concentrate on, only the runway and PAPIs. Had a day checkout last Thursday toward it, my first time in a 152!

I think Rugby was used for a RN sub VLF (ELF?) transmitter. So with that and the time signal gone, does it have any further function? There was some years ago talk of flattening the site and building a new town aka “New Hillmorton” *shudder* 😮

Unlike some lesser board software 😀 Key’s should automatically adjust, but check anyway by clicking User CP.

They’re also switching off the time signal at Rugby next week.
