What happened to the Paris stage?
As someone who was aiui there, did Richard Dimbleby ever publish any books on his WW2 experiences?
Oh no!, yet another thread gone belly up
Because of this comment?
A full-size model of a Spitfire blows over in high winds. Photos are posted on a number of aviation forums and people make comments about it.
Next someone who hasn’t bothered reading any of these threads asks what has happened and a helpful soul points then towards a thread which didn’t need posting in the first place because the subject had been discussed at length already. Are you managing to keep up with the lightning speed at which these events are unfolding, BlueRobin? Yes? Good, I’ll continue.
So, in essence, the story is that you’ve posted a thread that must rank amongst the most pointless threads ever to see the light of day on this forum. Pardon me whilst I yawn very loudly. Perhaps there’s some exciting hidden subtext to these events? Perhaps not.
Robbo, a simple nice “there’s some photos of it here on the thread” comment with a supplied URL would have been sufficient!
We cannot be expected to read every thread on this or other forums. Would you also berate the pilot on FLYER for not also having seen the photos? A search could have been a quite extensive task. As it happens *Zwitter* kindly replied without issue 5 minutes later (thanks) and the issue was resolved.
So do you have a gene that precludes you from using some civility? Not for the first time in the last seven days you have sought to shout someone down in a rude and insulting manner. I need not remind you this attitude is generally not the done thing around here.

Is that a hairy Will I see? 🙂
A5 kneepad. Doesn’t matter which one. You could easily make your own.
Headset is you could stretch, ANR is you can stretch further. ANR takes some of the noise stress out of flying.
Seen a few being advertised on the GA mags. Uncertified it seems. Didn’t the Minister or CAA state recently GA would be excluded from mandatory Mode-S fitment?
Do you mean Mode-S?
Hey John, well done. Been fettling any CF stuff recently? For a Class 2, Dr Busby nr Wellesbourne is a good old boy though he will talk the pants off of you.
Almat are based at Coventry. A former colleague dd his PPL there years ago flying evenings throughout the summer. Aircraft he learnt on were tired (he had to press the radio in the panel to transmit) but probably about the cheapest on the airfield. They have a seemingly decent PA34 at about £250/hr, which compared to other commercial trainers is good. So I recently enquired about a MEP by e-mail but have received no reply. Seems good ol’ phone or face-face is still the way to deal with flying clubs 🙂
I’m probably going to do my FI after graduating ground school in March. You never know John in a cruel twist of fate I could end up teaching you to fly. Cue demonic laughter :dev2:
JJ has been stripped. Janie has admitted as much on another forum.
Rail would require more land and track. Air infrastructure largely consists of airspace. No land purchase, no planning permission.
Were factory-new paint schemes all matt finish? What type of paint was used?
Shiny poly-plastic paints seem all the rage these days. Can be very swish and shiny, but undoubtedly high quality. Not necessarily right for fabric though?
I think the above was through an organised visit/press day. Normally the Lanc is off-limits, though I do confess to having had a sneeky look through the cracks in the hangar doors.

Sehr gut 😀
I think it would not be unreasonable to ask that if Ollie has not taken the shot in the next fortnight then either a) the camera is passed on for the next shot or b) preferably it is developed. But who should take care for i) managing the film and ii) developing it? Any objections to e.g. Moggy for the handler?
Shots scanned in and posted on this forum within a month. Now there’s a thought.
Yes I have been watching Gerry Robinson on BBC2 😀
Hi Peter, hope HAIR has gone to a good home?
Here’s the thread you refer to….
