By 2008 middle, JASDF F-15 from Hyakuri AB, Ibaraki Prefecture, will replace F-4 at Naha AB, Okinawa Prefecture.
From 2008 September to 2009 end, Naha AB will upgrade to accommodate KC-767.

Technically, EP-3E has propeller engines, not jet engines that s_ck, but I don’t know the strength of the EP-3E slipstream.

Incidentally, anyone has, or has seen, proof of the serial number of the J-8II that comrade Wang drove on 1 April 2001?
Maybe in articles about, or interviews with, that EP-3E or its crew?

I’ve read “81097” and “81192”.

Although “81192” was in an USN video dated 24 January 2001, I haven’t seen evidence that it was the J-8II that comrade Wang drove on 1 April 2001.

I looked for photos of both “81097” and “81192”, dated after 1 April 2001, but no joy, before I gave up.

Some of the PLA relics and vehicles displayed in Hong Kong, to celebrate the PLA birthday on August 1.
Especially the anti-air or anti-tank wheeled vehicles… which don’t have a white circle painted on each tire. 8P
Even comrade MAO Ze Dong’s binocs, and comrade ZHU De’s pistol. {yawn}

The exhibit begins on August 1, and no, I didn’t line up to get a ticket.

Today is the public funeral ceremony for Colonel (posthumous) Yu and Major (posthumous) Lee.

Yu was studying air transportation (literally “air logistics management”) at Kai Nan University, Tao Yuan County.

The university principal specially awards an Honourary Master Degree to Yu, and personally delivers the certificate and robe to Yu’s wife.

Message #587 has a list of ROKAF accidents/crashes, from 1994.05.20 to 2006.06.07, but this message board is in Jap, and although the place names are in Chinese words, I don’t know their Korean pronunciations. 8b

Message #211 and #291 have a list of ROKAF F-16/KF-16 accidents/crashes, from 1993.04.08 to 2007.02.13. Same linguistic problem to me. 8(

Clarification: 20:08 on 8 August 2008, IIRC.
The organisers tested the fireworks, a few nights ago.
The thousands of dancers/performers are also practising in the stadium.

Don’t know about the closing ceremony.

BTW, the wind-surfing competition is at Qing Dao, Shan Dong Province.
The equestrian competition is here at Hong Kong, where Hongkongers care far more about inflation, political elections and reforms (as if there are any), stock market, &c.
