Probably old news.
In air-to-mud training, PLAAF Su-30s escorted by Fei Bao with ECM pods, for electronic warfare.
Attempt to emulate the EA-6 or EF-111 in an USAF or USN alpha package.
(IMO, didn’t the Israelis and Yanks already do this, like 30+ years ago?)
“Navy seeks electromagnetic launcher for missiles and other projectiles”
By John Keller
DAHLGREN, Va., 8 May 2008. U.S. Navy officials are approaching industry for ideas on how to design an electromagnetic launcher able to propel a ship-based missile towards its target before the missile’s engine ignites — a process called ‘cold missile launch.’
F-22 0, Iron Man 1
Went to watch the movie Iron Man (2008).
In one scene, in a hangar, a parked F-22 has the tail number “ED 01-006”.
This tail number is probably real.
In another scene, the two F-22 in the air are too blurry, and can’t spot their tail numbers.
(Anyone has a clear screen capture?)
BTW, the C-17 Leakmeister III at Edwards AFB also has the tail code “ED”.
But just after the movie begins, the scene at Bagram AFB is too short, and missed the tail code on the C-17.
(Anyone has a clear screen capture?)
Although one of the protagonists is an USAF Colonel, his chest badge has a F/A-18 motif.
Reminder: the end credits seem to list/thank an USMC unit based at Edwards AFB?
Also, don’t miss the epilogue after the end credits!
(I always stay in the cinema to view the end credits of movies I watch anyway, as respect for the movie staff.)

Taiwan President-Elect MA has chosen former deputy minister of defense CHEN Chao Min as the next Minister of Defense, from 20 May 2008.
Wikipedia and other sources list his ROCAF career: which squadrons at which time, but don’t specify the aircraft.
Does anyone know what aircraft he’s flown before?

says Chen was once a F-100 instructor pilot, but I don’t know enough about the ROCAF to deduce, from the squadrons he flew with or commanded, the aircraft types he’s flown before. 8b

H-6 variant, ARJ21, and A320 developments involve CAD/CAM.
(In the good old 1980s, some US groups feared helping China, Israel, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan to develop civilian (or military) aircraft would teach them US aerospace know-how (such as systems integration) that they would apply to their military (or civilian) aerospace industries, and compete with US aerospace industries.)

] In the Iraqi desert scene, we see an F-16 with French Air Force markings and an F/A-18 with Israeli Air Force markings. Neither type of plane is in service with these air forces.
Back then, when I watched it on-screen, I noticed that F-16 (and thought it might be Belgian), but missed that F/A-18.

] But if the U.S. keeps on being stubborn and doesn’t trust its most important and co-closest Pacific ally, then ******** ’em.
US military has solid reaons to not trust Japanese military: for the past several years, Japanese media have reported various intelligence leaks by Japanese military personnel, such as bringing home classified technical manuals, or leaking/losing data files through hacked file-sharing software (Winny) in Japanese military personnel’s personal computers.
OTOH, we should admire the transparent Japanese military for admitting and not covering up these intelligence leaks.

(Yes, although IJAAF Kamikaze squadrons were disbanded decades ago, JASDF is still crazy.) 8D
