Comrade Lieutenant Commander WANG Wei, PLAN.
Article dated 24 March 2006.
] pre-TianAnMen square American administrations weren’t as anti-China as they are now.
Agreed. Between 1969, when Commie China fought the FSU, and 1989, when Commie China fought itself, the West, including USA, were actively assisting Commie China, to counter-balance the FSU, India, and Viet Nam in East Asia, which evidently explains the Z-9, Z-11, S-70, PL-9, and (rumoured) J-10 in the PLA inventory.
Now in 2006, the USA is assisting the Republic of Taiwan [sic] (where, IMO, the KMT has practically surrendered to the CCP), South Korea, Japan, and India, to counter-balance Commie China.
Late last year, when Emperor Bush II [sic] and Rice began to re-sell the Commie China threat topic, I was thinking: didn’t we hear this back in April 2001, after the PLAN J-8II vs USN EP-3E unpleasantness? Or in May 1999, after the USAF bombed the China embassy in Belgrade, FYR? (For comparison, when USA embassies in Africa were bombed, Clinton sent cruise missiles into Afghanistan.)
Back in 2001, USA complained about the J-8II, but didn’t complain about the Israeli AAMs it was carrying. Also, after months of heckling, the Commie China threat topic suddenly disappeared in September 2001.
OTOH, personally, although I disagree with the decision of the CCP in 1989; as a Hongkonger, my view of the PLA has somewhat improved: in 1989, I thought the PLA, when ordered by the CCP, was willing to kill fellow China civilians. Now, after Hong Kong re-unites with China, I think the PLA, who are complete strangers from all over China, when ordered, is willing to defend with their lives, fellow China civilians in Hong Kong; just as the Brits and Canadians did, against the IJA, in December 1941.
*OFF-TOPIC ALERT*
The Q-5 is in the Armored Fury add-on, which probably comes out on March 28.

Seems BF2:AF isn’t released on March 28, after all?
Assuming his name in that CCTV screen cap is correct, his name is intoned as LU4 Xiao4 Peng2. (Family name capitalised for emphasis.)
Last weekend, I was again looking for a photo of comrade Q-5 10660, when I scrounged that pic.
(When comrade YANG Li Wei (YANG2 Li4 Wei3) went up in Shen Zhou V, on the first day or two, some local newspapers misprinted the Li in his name. After a couple days, they printed the correct Li, but didn’t apologise for the previous misprinting.)
] Anyone know more about the Q-5 as seen in Battlefield 2? Can you fly it? What weapons does it have?
I don’t play BF2, but as you may know, I’m tracking its vehicles.

BTW, I read in

that in Armored Fury, the USMC Harrier II+ has FSU/Russian UB-32-57 rocket pods… 8(

can someone of you post some pics of the luftwaffe?
Luftwaffe 29+13 Rudi
(Didn’t know even the Germans have “a sense of humour”.)
In the OPFOR.
What are the designations (alpha-numeric) of the four-shot missile launcher and the 12-shot rocket launcher on the virtual Tiger HAP?
A Commie China site at
http://game.21cn.com/zhuanti/bf2/bf2mecnewallv.shtml
claims, in 1997, USA bought 21 MiG-29s from Moldova, and used them as aggressors at an USAF facility in Ohio.
This fake or true?
Any photographic evidence? 8)
Any quick pic of the German and Spanish camo for comparison?
The Australian and French camo
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Eurocopter_Tiger
seems to have less yellow and more green.
(Another one of my dumb questions for a boring Sunday afternoon.)
In the computer FPS game Battlefield 2: Euro Force, the Tiger HAP has nose number T-VK903 and tail number 82-04.
Does its paint scheme, or serial numbering convention, relate to or resemble those of any army in real life?
I would appreciate even a negative answer. 8)

“RAAF bombing run sinks heroin ship”
March 23, 2006
THE North Korean heroin smuggling ship Pong Su has been sunk off the NSW coast by a bomb dropped from an RAAF F-111 jet fighter.
[Seems North Korean freighters aren’t built as tough as South Korean freighters.]
