“Egypt Building Chinese Warplane Under License”
March 6, 2006: Egypt has finally worked out a deal to manufacture Chinese JL-8 jet trainers. This is an extension of a purchase deal, from 1999, in which Egypt agreed to buy 80 JL-8s for about $4.4 million each. It took six years to work out the details of the technology transfer and foreign (in Egypt) manufacturing part of the agreement.
WRT more recent anime with aircraft and babes, I didn’t watch Stratos 4, because I’m not a big fan of the TSR.2 or MiG-25/MiG-31.
FYI, this current TVA season that begins in 2006 January, I’m following Yomigaeru Sora -Rescue Wings- (Komatsu Air Rescue Squadron, JASDF) and Tactical Roar (destroyer, but sci-fi).

In the longer movie, the reporter was decompressed in a room to simulate high altitude, and was a SLB (Self-Loading Baggage) in a T-2 rear seat and ate six Gs. 8(

PLAN Type 054 comparable to ROCN Lafayette Class?
] Why wasn’t the F-1 retirement mentioned in AFM? Did I miss something?
AFAIK, I’m not the only Oriental active contributor/reader of AFM, but FYI, I began to contribute Northeast Asia news to AFM and these forurms here since only 2003 August, when a Hong Kong Government Flying Service helo crashed and its crew bought the farm, and I thought I couldn’t allow their names and details to disappear from aviation history. 8(
On second thought, when I’m most bored, I might re-read the small batch of articles about military aviation saved from Yahoo! China News, Yahoo! Hong Kong News, Yahoo! Japan News, Yahoo! Taiwan News, and Yahoo! USA News, that I’ve collected since the late 1990s.

] Such a shame as it’s quite a beautiful airplane.
I respect any jet fighter designed to carry air-launched anti-ship missiles, even the JH-7. {snore}
BTW, I haven’t found any on-line pic of pre-production, conceptual drawings of the F-1.
I recently bought the mook “Koukuu Jieitai T-2/F-1” (Military Aircraft of JASDF, No. 4), by Ikaros, 2004.11.20. It doesn’t have any pre-production, conceptual drawing of the F-1 (as I hoped), but has a few pages of text about the F-1 and (duh) the Jaguar.
] The F-1 is a flyable airplane for the first time in the Ace Combat series,
Although I prefer more serious flight sims, where a fighter doesn’t fantastically carry tens of smart missiles and smart bombs, I would gawk at (most) modern jet fighters, real and virtual.
ROCN side views.
I like the look of it, does anyone have news on the status of this program?
