Last flight of six of seven F-1 of 6th Hikoutai, JASDF, at Tsuiki AB, Fukuoka Prefecture.
After retirement, display at air bases and museums.
In 1977, F-1 stationed at Misawa AB, Aomori Prefecture. In 1980, stationed at Tsuiki AB.
In 1980s, total 77 F-1 active at Misawa AB and Tsuiki AB.
In 2001, F-1 at Misawa AB retired.
The seven F-1 at Tsuiki AB will soon exceed flight time standard of 4,000 hours.

Sigh. Why am I not surprised the Warthog is the Tail End Charlie?
The Japanese maker (baker) of this Baumkuchen hits the JASDF, and misses the JGSDF and JMSDF.

WWII.
Is that a scene from the Final Countdown II?
It’s a photo from some air show, AFAIK.
WRT modern military and time travel, for comparison, the Japanese manga and 2005 TV anime series Zipang
http://www.tbs.co.jp/anime-zipang/
is about a modern JMSDF destroyer, the DDH-182 JDS Mirai (Future), that time-travelled to WWII. I didn’t read the manga, and watched only the first episode.
*SPOILER ALERT*
The JDS Mirai departed Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, and was heading for Hawaii, USA, for an exercise, when she was transported to near the Battle of Midway. Her crew at first decided not to interfere and possibly save their ancestors, but eventually interacted with (the parallel) history.
Also, the Japanese 2005 live action movie Sengoku Jieitai 1549 (Warring States Self Defence Force 1549)
http://www.sengoku1549.com/pc/
is a re-make of the live action movie Sengoku Jieitai, based on the manga of the same title. I didn’t watch the movies, and once browsed through the manga.
*SPOILER ALERT*
The new movie has a slightly different plot, AFAIK, but the story is essentially about a composite JGSDF unit, with MBTs, IFVs, and attack heloes, are teleported to late 16th century Japan, when such Daimyou as Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Tokugawa Ieyasu were fighting to unify Japan.
Other Japanese 2005 military movies include Boukoku no Aegis (JMSDF Kongou Class destroyer)
http://www.herald.co.jp/official/aegis/
http://aegis.goo.ne.jp/
and Otokotachi no Yamato (IJN Yamato Class battleship),
http://www.yamato-movie.jp/
but those don’t deal with time travel.
Far fetched, but the guy sounds pretty
assured of himself, or of what he’s talking about.
IMO, he presumed his audience were unfamiliar with the French, Russian, and Swedish fighter makers.

2 March 2006:

6 March 2006:
WRT the Korean freighter that sank on 10 October 2005, about 20 km from Tao Yuan, Taiwan; the EPA of the Taiwan government ordered the 3,000+ tons of chemicals in the wreck must be removed by the end of May.
The insurance company and ship owner agreed to first remove the chemicals and fuel, then raise the wreck, by drilling holes in the wreck, then using steel cables to hoist the wreck.

The Japan Times: March 5, 2006
The U.S. Air Force flew a Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle in Japanese airspace last month, government sources said Saturday.
