Amongst the list of written-off T-38s at
http://www.ejection-history.org.uk/Aircraft_by_Type/t_38_talon.htm
the ROCAF T-38s include (but aren’t limited to):
24 March 1975:
T-38A-40-NO x 3.
8506, 8512, and 8516.
19 January 1974:
T-38A-40.
61-0893.
I already knew 8516 is 61-0946.
Between 61-0841 and 61-0905, who’s 8506 and who’s 8512?
61-0893 is 85xx?

None of the six featured T-4s is 16-5659, but I don’t know the serial numbers of the other three of the four T-4s damaged at Matsushima AB, and I haven’t seen photos of the six that deployed to Kyuushuu Island and avoided the earthqake/tsunami/radiation.

It’s a she!
2011/03/21
Caught on camera today at Korat, Thailand was a female RSAF [sic] F-16 fighter pilot.
While she tried to avoid eye contact, we still managed to capture a picture of her.
(IMO, to quote the novel “A Piece of Cake” by Derek Robinson: very expressive eyebrows.) 8P

2011.03.19:
Matsushima AB damage assessment. Total 28 aircraft disabled.
Up to 230 billion Yen.
One SDF soldier killed. 8(
F-2 x 18.
Each 12.2 billion Yen.
T-4 x 4. One of these is Blue Impulse.
U-125A x 2.
UH-60J x 4.
Each 4.7 billion Yen.
As seen on TV:
F-2: 23-8114, &c.
T-4: 16-5659, &c.
http://www.mbs.jp/news/jnn_4672409_zen.shtml
As of March 12, at or about Matsushima AB, 45 SDF soldiers are missing.
16 of Touhoku Houmen Butai, JGSDF, and 19 of Matsushima AB, JASDF, and others.
Initially, 300 were reportedly lost contact or missing.
Also, Blue Impulse T-4s demo flights are cancelled or suspended until further notice.

FWIW, 11 news photos of Matsushima AB and Sendai AP in Miyagi Prefecture, &c.
] Looks like Japan is in serious trouble right now.
TV news mention Hachinohe JMSDF AB is also damaged?
OTOH, with Matsushima AB and its squadrons disabled, maybe the final squadron or two of JASDF F-4s withdrawn from Okinawa Prefecture, won’t retire as soon as planned. 8D
(Go, Phantom IIs, go!)
Also, I presume their RF-4s have been scrambled to recon the tsunami damage assessments.
For comparison, WRT earthquakes and typhoons in Taiwan, ROCAF scrambles their RF-5s.
Last week, after the M5.8 quake in Yun Nan Province, China, the Chicom news claim the PLAAF sent in their drones.
] maybe the RAF will dust off those air sampling pods and send out a VC-10 again.
JASDF has their own air sampling pods, and have been scrambled whenever North Korea does a nuke test.
12 March 2011:
At Matsushima AB, Miyagi Prefecture, 28 JASDF aircraft flooded by sea water.
18 F-2, and 10 T-4, U-125, and other aircraft.

Navy to correct delayed aircraft launch system
Posted : Wednesday Mar 9, 2011 22:00:02 EST
The new Electronic Aircraft Launch System under development for the U.S. Navy took a “pause” to correct problems that appeared after the first test launch in December, a top Navy official said March 9.
26 February 2011:
Jet fighter.
Nan Jing AF, PLAAF.
About 3:42 PM, at about 10,001 m, during day-to-night training, canopy suddenly slid open by about a fingertip width, or 1 cm. Pilot contacted ATC, declared emergency landing, (gory details skipped) and RTB.
3:51 PM, emergency landed at home base. Reportedly, canopy control switch malfunctioned. (Zzz.)
Pilot was YANG Fan, a group commander with 4,000+ hours experience.

C-2.
JASDF.
Overweight than design weight by several tons. Rumour: seven tons.
Reminds me of the official “U.S. Navy Style Guide”:
http://www.navy.mil/tools/view_styleguide_all.asp
‘ship names – For first reference always include USS, the ship’s name and the hull number: USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).
Exceptions: Do not use “USS” for ships before 1909; or if she is not yet in commission; or she has been decommissioned and you are referring to the ship in her present state.
There is no hyphen in the hull number. In All Hands text, the ship name is in italics. On second reference, use only the ship’s name. Do not use “the” in front of a ship’s name: “USS San Jose,” not “the USS San Jose.”
Ships may be referred to as “she” or “her.”
Ships’ nicknames are placed inside quotation marks on first reference only. USS LaSalle (AGF 3), the “Great White Ghost,” sailed into San Diego.
Ship names are not in all caps. Use USS Seattle, not USS SEATTLE.’
