During air-to-mud training, locked-on ground target, pressed pickle button, and display said the live 500 kg bomb didn’t leave the rack. Circled around, locked-on ground target, pressed pickle button, and display still said bomb didn’t leave the rack.
Aborted training, RTB, and emergency landed with live bomb.
Pilot was HU Bo. Regiment deputy chief of staff.

Scrambled to intercept a foreign civilian light plane that strayed from its original course, and into Chicom coastal territory.
As the intruder fled towards the sea, the Chicom fighter persuaded it to land. Eventually, when the Chicom fighter dropped some flares as warning, the intruder landed on a dried fish pond.
Chicom pilots were group deputy commander LI Ming Quan, and pilot JIANG Shi Bao.
Intruder pilot was “Colin Border” or “Colin Bordier” (?), a Brit and world ultra-light plane flight competition champion, with (then) 25 years of flight experience.

Scientists build the world’s first anti-laser

Physicists have built the world’s first device that can cancel out a laser beam – a so-called anti-laser.
The device, created by a team from Yale University, is capable of absorbing an incoming laser beam entirely.

Accident cause was human error. Pilot probably mistakenly operated switch of hydraulics system that transmitted control stick motion to rotary wings.
Switch operation is different in UH-1 helicopter new J model and old H model. Accident helicopter was old H model.
During hover, if operated switch, in old H model, caused control trouble. In improved J model, could control.
Pilot probably mistakenly operated switch, could not maintain attitude, and crashed. Pilot did not remember he operated switch or not.

About 9:20 AM, crashed or crash-landed, at a construction site, near Fo Shan AP, Fo Shan, Guang Dong Province.
South side of construction site of Nan Hai Heng Gang section, Gui-Guang high-speed railway, north of Fo Shan AP.
Two pilots climbed out before aircraft caught fire.
10+ fire trucks came to extinguish fire.

Engine trouble, near Minami Torishima Island, Japanese east-most island.
Could not return to Toukyou, and landed at island, before engine shut down.
Another aircraft delivered replacement components.
Repaired, and returned to Toukyou.

3rd District, JCG, based at Haneda AB, Toukyou.
Final YS-11 of JCG retires, after 42 years.
Shouwa 44 or 1969 March 20, this was first active duty JCG YS-11.
Total flight time, 23,233 hours.
Final public appearance will be January 15, at Ibaraki AP.
JCG had five YS-11, activated from 1969 to 1979.
2010 February, YS-11 “Ojiro 2 Gou” was first JCG YS-11 that retired. Replaced by Bombardier Canada DHC-8-315.
2006, civilian YS-11 retired.
JASDF and JMSDF has 20 YS-11 now.
