The criminals escaped, without explosives.

FWIW, this Yahoo! Taiwan News article dated 23 July 2008, mentions: Qing Yun (Blue Cloud) fuel-air bomb, Wan Jian (Ten Thousand Swords) cluster bomb, and Tian Jian II (Sky Sword II) anti-radiation missile, for the F-CK-1C/D.

FWIW, to be concise: over a decade before a Russian pilot borrowed a MiG-25 and went to Japan, a Japanese mechanic tried to borrow a T-33 and go the opposite way, to China.

24 June 1962 [16 June 1962? Not 24 September 1962!]:
T-33A. 81-5361, #361.
7th Hikoutai, 4th Koukuudan, JASDF, based at Matsushima AB, Miyagi Prefecture.

“Number 361 Incident”.
Attempted to take off, overran 10 m, and crashed or stopped.
Mechanic who piloted the aircraft, wanted to defect to Harupin [Harbin, or Ha Er Bin, Hei Long Jiang Province, China?].
“Pilot” Technical Sergeant Takahashi was wounded, hospitalised, arrested, charged. Had no experience with piloting aircraft, jet or propeller.

To prevent pursuit by two F-86F on alert duty, he damaged or sabotaged their landing gear.
