Fabulous restoration, quibbles about the paint job notwithstanding. You can tell she was built with love.
Ta for that matey, you’d think I’d know how to post a link by now wouldn’t you!
In a similar vein in Pacific Wrecks, this looks interesting as well:
True, but on the other hand how many have been restored to flying, or at least taxiable, condition over the same period? Be interesting to compare a list of the two categories over say the last twenty years or so.
Hi Matey
Try the Pacific Wrecks website, its packed full of information about that sort of thing.
According to the Finnish Air Museum website they have a rear fuselage and tail from a Mk1.
very sad to hear the B-52 crashed, that must have been amazing to see in the air.
Nice idea but I can’t see it coming off, if only on insurance grounds!
Excellent news, now if we can just a Beaufighter up and running…
Could you possibly referring to that well known antipodean commentator on the arts Germaine Greer perchance?
Nice shot
Excellent photo of Beaufighters, whoever took that is braver than me. The noise must have been fantastic!
Unbelievable!
Not to mention a Dornier 26:
