Came over Lutterworth at 5.30ish just as I was going to work.
Know what you mean Mart about the last stragglers. I saw here low popping in and out from behind the tree’s and had that sort of feeling, but more of sadness knowing that this one bird has only been 1000yrds away from us for months and has now gone home.
It was good knowing she was at the airport at Cov, but alas, no more:(
She does look rather good though:D
Sea Vixen!!!!!!
Perhaps I’m being bias as I work on a Vixen but hey, here goes:-
Javelins are ugly, Sea Vixens aren’t!:diablo:
Theirs my comparison:D
Sea Vixens win hands down on everything!!
Your just a bit to late my friend.
The first pictures of her were posted on here nearly two weeks ago, but hey, thanks for the input.;)
Great shots but in the wrong place, should be in the Airline Images section.
Regards,
Chris:)
Oops………:o
Shows I don’t come in here often:D
Glad you all like the pics. I’m sure my friend will upload his at some stage.
and the last….
few more
With the Viscount going to MAM you can probably forget about a Dak going there now.
Lets face it though, I would prefere the Viscount cause it’s more historic:D 😀
Please allow me to help in any way I can sir. I will keep an open eye out for you.;)
It would be interesting to know what 700 series parts are left in the U.S as Mojave used to be a scrapping place for the type.
I would think many parts and I’m sure any available may be of use to this project. Who knows;)
You joke about that idea sir but it was done years ago with a DC6 around our pylons:D
Seriously though, all the best with this wonderful project. I look forward to more updates on this, in my opinion, best ever produced airliner.
This is all good talk guys but can I ask why the Junk 88 has been brought into this thread?
Is this not a thread for informing you good folks about the Viscount that is apparently moving to a new home. I like Viscounts and I came on here to see what was going on only to find you all talking about a Ju88.
Surely a new thread should be started on this subject. I suppose this is what you call ‘hijacking a thread’!!
How frustrating must it be for the Viscount group that is doing this project to have you all talk about another aircraft, after all they are doing it for you aren’t they?
A good haulage company with a reputation for moving airframes could use tyres just as easily as anything else. They should know how to incorperate them in the move without damaging the aircraft.
An airframe that is as old as the 88 that has been in the salty sea’s as long as it has would make it common sense that the airframe would be extremely weak. The Viscount will be far stronger and be able to withstand the pressures put on to it’s frame quite easily, especially if positioned in area’s where their would be stronger points like ribs and spars under the skins.;)
