Well, as long as this thread has degenerated into another U.S. hate fest, lets review some other facts.

WWI was started by Europeans but they couldn’t even win a war against themselves without outside help. Then, they blame others for arriving late to the fight that they started but couldn’t finish. Six imperial powers without enough courage to fight it out among themselves. Without whining for help from former colonies. How humiliating. Millions killed for no gain. The Russians cry, we give up and go home to begin killing off their own population in what becomes a 50 year murder spree.

Europe starts WWII. Again, they can’t settle it without outside help. They whine, they look down their long noses at the help they get and accuse the help of arriving late to a war they started themselves, but couldn’t finish. Millions more die.

The cold war replaces the hot war. One half of europe faces off against the other. Terror spreads thoughout eastern Europe. The western half remains reliant on the former colonists to defend it.

The former European imperial powers run away from their responsibilities around the world, leaving their African and Asian colonies and occupied territories in a mess. To try and sort out the mess Europe left behind.

Humiliated that the Jews they didn’t manage to kill off, manage to create a homeland and demonstrate that they can defend it themselves, Europe turns on them once again and supports it’s non- democratic neighbours.

The cold war continues for 50 years. Europe depends on the colonies for protection and continues to prove through to the end of the 20th Century that it cannot deal with internal issues like the Balkans without outside leadership from others. ie the USA.

Other events could be listed but these were the key events which reduced Europe to the point where it became dependant on the USA for it’s security, and along with traditional european anti-Americanism and European elitism, explains the current attitude of Europe (mainly old Europe) toward the U.S.

The reaction of many in Europe to the terrorist attack on NY in Sep01 was proof of the level of anti-U.S. feeling there. After the initial shock and expressions of support, it wasn’t long before Europeans were opining that the U.S. was simply being paid-back for past misdeeds. And rightly so!

That attitude became more widespread when it became obvious that the Bush administration was going to defend itself. The U.S. is the greatest threat to world peace they moaned. Where was the U.S. when we were fighting terrorism they cried.? The U.S. is arriving late for another war they howled.

    What bull ****!

    From Coanda

The country is insanely paranoid and is a flock of willing sheep at the shepherds call of whatever propaganda leaves the government offices.

You read a comment like this and you try and understand it and you can’t because there is no link to reality, no context. It suggests the paranoia liies elsewhere.

As someone pointed out in a pervious U.S. bashing thread, there are millions of routine and painless entries into the U.S. each year.

Your “I am not anti-American” declamation is surely one of the most disingenuous statements ever posted here. The more you say, the more you reveal your hate. You don’t fool anyone claiming it’s only the U.S. leadership you disrespect. That’s a standard phony disclaimer all those who are anti-American use. Its been used here ad nauseam.

It’s obvious that threads such as this one are only ment as a means to encourage anti-American rants. As usual, the resident moonbats can’t resist, and we are treated to a recycling of the same old combination of lies and distortions, characture slurs, distorted history and retarded conspiracy theories, all designed to denouce U.S. government policies and the U.S. people.

I was referring to the damage that done to U.S. equipment during the post invasion period. As the vast majority of attack are against U.S forces their equipment takes alot of damage. This thread is about equipment. Save your phony outrage for some other time.

Smart enough to know when someone is trying to be cute by pretending he doesn’t understand my point.

Maher Arar claims he was tortured by the Syrians when he was deported back to his homeland by the U.S. The hazards of having dual citizenship. Needless to say he blames Canada and the U.S. not the Syrians. I am not sure that there is any connection to Gitmo.

It’s obvious that those who are pretending to be concerned about these scum are only responding because the U.S. is holding them. Otherwise we would not hear a peep from them.
