Saddam says
Apparently Saddam has just gone on record and anounced that Iraq had WMD but dosn’t have any now:D
As a result of this admission, perhaps President Bush will say “good one Saddam, thats all we ever wanted ” and call off the war;)

The why not North Korea question has been discussed at length, altho not to everyones satisfaction I admit.
Your assurance that Saddam dosn’t have WMD is truely amazing regardless of which side of the war issue you come down on.

Luna probes
Yes Arthur the USSR was the first to reach the moon, albeit only with a probe. I believe the total number in the Luna series is 24.
I think that the first Luna to actually crash land on the surface was luna 2 (1959) and the first to soft land was actually Luna 9 in 1966 (which took a few photos). It certainly put the green cheese theory to rest 🙂 I am sure NASA was relieved.
Between the Luna, Rangers, Surveyors and Apollos we have managed to litter even the Moon.

I suppose that because they never managed to get there maybe the Russians still think the moon is made of cheese. Green cheese I believe…ha,ha,ha.

Leaders who deserve punishment
ELP
Yes, it’s interesting how often a democratically elected leader is vilified by the left for taking a stand they don’t agree with… they are called morons and idiots and baby killers… they should be shot and pissed on! Democracy is failing! They should resign.
Contrast that with the attitude toward Saddam. You only have to read the slogans on the banners of the ‘peace protesters’ to see who and what they stand for and it isn’t democracy.
As far as Saddam is concerned it’s always the same, “I don’t support him, but….

Interesting point.
Assuming there is a war with Iraq and it goes quickly, with a minimum of distruction, Syria and others may have second thoughts about the wisdom of continuing with their WMD purchases and programs.
It has been suggested that Syria could be assisting Saddam by hiding some of his WMD and perhaps also acting as a conduit for chemical shipments into Iraq. If a war in Iraq reveals that to be so it will be intersting to see the reaction in certain quarters.
In any event, if North Korea is as involved as those intel sources say, it will climb the evil register a notch or two and that might have interesting results as well.
We can bet that there well be facts, rumours, lies and deceptions a plenty, for us to discuss in the future.

What other ways? Another 12 years of inspections while he continues to murder in comfort?
Supporting Saddam through inaction has come at a high price for Iraq. I simply do not understand why you want to see him remain in power.
Do you ever give thought to the fact that your pacificistic notions contribute to Saddams maintenance and comfort at the expence of the people in Iraq? Do you wonder at the future cost? Given the volumn of moral support he is getting at the UN, he could be around for quite awhile.
Standing for peace is one thing but doing so at the expence of others lives is highly questionable IMHO , especially when it is done from the comfort of a neighbourhood such as yours (and mine).
This issue could have been settled a long time ago and saved thousands. Unfortunately the UN choose to do nothing once again.
As far as President Bush being a moron….well he is the President of the US (not Canada I might point out) while we?….well we are here on this forum arn’t we.
