RE: Compare US to Brazil
It makes you wonder about Brazil. Both it and the US started out as colonies of European powers. Both have extensive resourses, energetic people, diversity, natural beauty, fine climates and extentive coastlines, large populations etc, etc. They are the same size geographically. They both have most of the ingedients to be great and they started out in approximately the same place and time in the development of so called ‘new world’.
In spite of all those similarities, look at them now. The US economy is the largest and most prosperous in the world, it is a world power in every sense and while we can argue about the nature of its past and current policies it has been and continues to be the most influential nation in many respects. Look at Brazil in comparison.

A big issue in the US? Not really. Just a minor human interest item. The guy tried to register for training and didn’t apply properly. Hardly the fault of the US authorities. But it seems its a big deal in NZ, with you and some others here.

Has the UK ‘ratified’ the Kyoto accord yet?
If the US keeps giving in to all this Euro world government stuff it will be the first to sign.

I can see that I should have asked – which nations have ratified the Kyoto accord?

Natural gas is widly used in commercial trucks, cars, household heating (mine is) industrial heating plants use, electrical power generation, etc in the US and Canada, but more improvements are needed.
I am still interested in which nations have ‘signed’ the accord but freedback is scarce for some reason. I assume the Netherlands has.

Actually Pakistani I don’t harbour any evil thoughts about Pakistan so don’t flatter yourself.
As far as Islam goes (flawed characture that I am) I find all the major religions distastfull, Islam no more, no less than the others. They are all nonsense. Dreamed up by egocentric charlatans as a means of exercising control over their fellowman for the purpose obtaining wealth, power and women. Male dominated and reactionary. Pretty simple stuff when you look at it.
As far as your concern about my reproductive possiblities, you are to late. Sorry.

You are quite right about the events in India. I believe the world was pre-occupied with events in Palestine at that time and the world’s human rights groups and most of the western press were lining up to get interviews with Yaser. Far more people were killed in India than in Palestine, but the world had little time for it.
I started this to counter the growing numer of threads which use the subject of justice as a smokescreen to run down the US. They are so obvious that I thought it was appropriate to widen the discussion a bit and the rape judgement was fresh. I could just as easily have referred to the fire which occured in Saudi a short time ago (sorry I have forgotten the source) where the religious police preferred that a dozen school girls die in a fire rather than escape without their heads covered. It could be argued they got justice. Some would call it murder. It speaks volumes about justice in Saudi Arabia (and Islam).
