Please explain how the US is responsible for the state of affairs in Taiwan. How dare the US what? I know the US and others helped China during WWII but the issues between Taiwan and the PRC are the result of the civil war in China, not caused by the US. Its this type of BS comment which I find annoying. It says more about your real attitude toward the US than all your other comments.

Correct me if I am wrong, but prior to the Six Day War, Israel’s principle supporters were France and the UK. At that point, they effectively abandoned Israel and it was left up to the US to step in and prevent a second holocaust. Muslims hate the Jews therefore the US is hated. The Arab countries have to externalize their own internal problems because it deverts attention from the fact that they are the cause of their own inadequate policies. Its easy to blame the US. Thats why some in the middle east celebrated the attack on the US last September. Not very original analysis and undoubtably an oversimplification but probably not far off the mark.

Another load of anti-American horsesh*t. Another thread which will quickly turn into another “the USA is the home of all evil in the world”.

Actually I like Blair and Putin. Like George they both have the balls to see that standing up to threats from the terrorist nations is the correct policy. Russia, Britain and the USA standing shoulder to shoulder again in the face of evil (scary stuff).

Rumsfeld? Now there is is a class act. Anyone who can kick a room full of reporters (Americans included) where it hurts the most and have them laughing at their own stupidity at the same time, gets my vote.

Sharon is not popular in Europe because he is a daily reminder of the millions of Jewish ghosts who haunt Europe due to their collective complacency.

Just an observation, but if more of the countries in your region where democratic (western style or not) maybe they would be able to put more food on the table. Seems to me there is a cause and effect relationship there.

The reason I asked this question in the first place was you seem to be in agreement with those here who frequently get on anti-American kicks, so its good to see that you recognise that your region of the world has problems which are caused local attitudes and behavour rather than blaming the US.

Geforce as you mentioned the Dutch, why don’t you let go of your joystick, turn off your computer and go outside in the fresh air and see if you can’t find one of those great looking Dutch girls to take your mind off all this crap we have been talking about. She could keep you mellow while the Americans keep you safe. In any event, it couldn’t do you any harm and it would do wonders for your outlook. I only wish.

Good points Phantom.

Unfortunatly, you are up against a bunch of guys who live in a socialist dreamland and who have been raised on a steady diet of European complacency. They are they same trolls who post threads which are simply intended to inspire anti-American rants. They make silly remarks about American politics, businesses, justice, social values, military history, foreign policy, etc. They are full of disingenous comments, twist facts, lie, quote out of context and use stupid examples to make weak arguments.

Fortunately Phantom, they are pretty obvious. I agree that jealousy is part of it but I also believe that much of their attitude stems from the fact that they simply resent the US because it has been able and willing to help Europe in so many ways. It bothers them that they needed the help I suppose.

A few threads back, this same bunch was ranting about about how the US starts all the wars, how it didn’t get involved in WWII until it was all over, how the US forces were all cowards, blah, blah, blah! This got started because someone on this forum made a lame attempt to use the US presidents visit to a US military cemetary, as an excuse to slag the US. What horsesh*t all that was.

I get a particular charge when someone from one of the backwater nations where no one ever gets to vote (and where the leaders wear military uniforms), pipes up and agrees how bad the US is and how superior the dictatorship that he lives in is.

Pretty strange stuff but I think you are right in agreeing that most rational folks in Europe are adult enough to see through this crap.
