British Library in London I would think.

If you enquire at your local library I’m sure you can get to see them on the inter-library loans service – maybe only one volume (12months) at a time though.

If you were prepared to travel somewhere that has done aeronautical education for a long time (eg Cranfield University) probably have copies in their library and Shuttleworth probably have them in theirs.

RAF Coughton has an F-100 and F-105 which, when I visited a couple of years ago, the USAF guards on the gate assured me they weren’t real aeroplanes 😎
I tried to argue they were very real but they had guns and I didn’t 🙁

    PhantomPhixer,

wikipedia has a few under “gate guards” and there are some on here:

The demobbed site might be a place to try – I know there are a lot of types listed but you could discount things like Avro 504 and go through the obvious ones.

If there isn’t a Gate Guard Aircraft site perhaps someone ought to start one.

Cosford used to hold open cockpit days.. ..but I believe I heard someware that because the lumnesent paint used on old aircraft instruments was reported to be radio active the HSE had a dicky fit and banned or advised a ban on public access.

Spade Grip – this ‘problem’ has been around for some years now and I’m sure RAFM would have got this dealt with fairly quickly.

Rob, It’ll be the Series 3 Whirlwind – only a nose/cockpit section remains of the HAS7.

Last couple of times it has been repainted I think Bristows donated the paint.

Was the previous owner of ‘MSV the Aircraft Restoration and Parachuting Company of Coventry Airport?
There was an item in the Public Notices of the local Coventry paper a few weeks ago re the bankruptcy of David Kingshott “carrying on business as Director” of the above company.
What else did they have, what did they do?

Assure your wife that Viscount Pilot’s seats are really comfortable.

……..then buy youself an airline pilot’s uniform, suggest she buys an airline stewardess’s outfit, make sure the seat is well fixed to the floor and ………(I’ll leave the rest to your imagination) 😀 😀 😀

Re: the ban/restrictions on cellulose will aircraft dope still be available?

Is there a modern alternative that carries out the same shrinking on aircraft fabric (yes I know there are modern fabrics that shrink by ironing)?

Lancman – MAM could use some F.1 bits too?

The F.1 there is wingless although a set of FSM wings are being built I believe.

Great to see these Martin B.
I spent a few minutes pondering over what was behind the MiG 21 in the centre pic. Have come to the conclusion it is probably a Piaggio P.166 or variant.

She was out on static display in the “flight line” at the display on August 5th and I took several pics.

I have tried to post one but the file size is to big and haven’t had time to work out how to reduce

I’m surprised at how many of these survive!

Easy to store – the original “flat-pack” 😀

I know this threads concerns the aircraft’s interior – but no one has come up with a pic of the exterior.
